:p Am I crazy? Answer honestly (but gently.)

I always have a girl and boy name on reserve in case you know a dog falls out of the sky and lands in my lap or something.

Right now I have Issey for a boy and Vera for a girl.

So if your equally as crazy, share your names.

I have a mental bank of names I like. But I have to meet the dog (or horse) before I can name it. The name has to fit.

I will post the names when they come to me.. I really should write them down.

Nope. I like to get to know them a bit before naming them and it often takes me a few months to settle on a name.

I did however have a name already for a black tri I was hoping for out of Morgan -- before she was ruled out for breeding. I had both a call name and a registered name decided on. I don't know if I'll use that name for a future dog or not. It would have to be a very special dog.

yeah... the next girl name on the list was Dior and it just didnt stick, so I ended up changing it to Chloe after having her for a few weeks... so the reserve names dont always work :p

But I love Issey and def. think my little male Biewer is going to have that name... someday ;)

My female kelpie will be Wanda, my male will be Matty.
My female BC will be Quincy, male will be Sonny.
... yes I think about it. lol
And ofcourse it might all go out hte windown if they're personality doesn't fit. Buster took weks to name, he had Pumpkin, Frog, Spike and Juniour before Buster.

I want my future Newfoundland to be named Ruxpin. Like Teddy Ruxpin. Because Newfs look like teddy bears. :p
If I were to get an Aussie I'd be very unoriginal and name her Sydney. And even though I prefer females to males, I feel like I need a Boxer named Cassius.

I also like the name Rufus but again, I prefer females.

Not really. Every once in awhile I hear something I think would be an awesome name for a dog. But Caleb's name was picked out way before we got him- my husband came across it in his family tree and liked it. Since we are done having kids, we decided our "next" dog would be named Caleb.

It was five years from when I fell in love with boxers until I got one of my own. For those five years, I just knew I was going to have a male boxer and his name would be Finn. When I picked up Murphy from animal control I was at a loss. I knew that he was not a Finn, it didn't fit him at all. My husband actually came up with Murphy. It's the perfect name for him. I still keep the name Finn in the back of my mind to possibly use for a future dog.

If I get a male toller, it will be named Peter.

If I get a female dog, of any breed, it will probably be named Isla.

Other possibilities will be Danny, Sophie, Todd, and Kharma.

I want to name a girl dog "Lexi". I imagine her to be some type of herding breed or mix.

But then again, as others have said, who know what will really happen. :p

Nope. EVen if I did think there were future animals for me, I would wait until the name they needed came up. Hyia just read a story in a book called Tornado about a cat named 5:30. THe best name ever for a cat that shows up at exactly that time. Mom named Victor. SHe was determined to find the right name, and having so much fun coming up with them that when she made her mind up, that was good enough for me. Can't imagine him named anything else. THo it took me awhile to get use to. Same goes for Pepper who my son's girl dubbed. What could be more fun than peppertini chilipepper bell pepper pepperpot. IT meant something to both of them to be able to name them. Letting Mom name Victor was part selfish on my part. He was such a disaster, i felt that if she named him maybe she would like him despite himself. If i had a name already chosen, i would have missed out on all of that.

Haha! Yes!! I already have my next dogs name picked out. I want a female poodle named Amelia, Mia for short. Ella is another possibility.
I too have a writen list of names for future dogs.
I plan on naming my Future Wolfhound Belco. I think it would be fun to name a dog Ham (but a hammy dog, not a poodle :p). I also think the name has to fit the look as well as the dog. I am not someone that has to get to know a dog first though. I just am not that origional. I tend to call all new dogs Squirt or Bud. I love to pick out dog names though!

I have a mental list of names I really like, but have never used any of them. I never thought I'd have a dog named Jack, but it fits him.

My boyfriend is dead set on getting a pug named Cid.

I have a list of names somewhere that I like, but I don't have any particular names in mind for future dogs. I used to -- I had a whole bunch of names picked out for Dance, but none of them fit, so now I don't bother. Now I wait until I get to know the dog. :)

I also have to know my animals before I can name them.

Some of mine were rescued with names that suited them. Others needed names.

I think if I ever ended up with a terrier with a wirey coat, it'd be a Dweezle. Just cause... I can't think of anything else that would be more fitting and the name is hilarious.

River's breeder registered him as "sport." River is the least sporty Border Collie EVER. If I didn't know for a fact he was a BC and if he didn't have SOME BC qualities, I'd swear he was something else. Nope. He's a River.... a lovely river.

I have a list but am terrible at girl names, although I like Foxy's name Jade.

Boy names I have are
Colby
Cisco
Beau
Sawyer
Bosco (only if it's a Boxer)

But it could easily change once I've met the dog.
