Do you have any doggy household "traditions"/routines?

I was thinking about it today and I never really realized but Merlin & I have a lot of.. quriks in our daily routine lol

- He ALWAYS gets two treats before going to bed in his crate
- He gets a treat after going on walks (I thought EVERYONE did this, turns out..not so common)
- Before going inside he waits to have his paws wiped down and himself cleaned off (I spray him with ACV/lavender oil mix to kind of clean/disinfect mr.grossness)

what's something you guys do?

Bedtime treats!
And kongs when Ryan or I leave the house.
And a cookie when we come in from going potty. Frodo knows this one really well, and will follow me around when we come back inside until I give him one :p

We have a whole bedtime routine that rarely varies.

Squash goes outside.
Squash comes inside.
Pip and Maisy go outside.
Squash goes upstairs to his crate in the bedroom with his bedtime Kong.
Pip and Maisy come inside.
Maisy goes upstairs to her crate in the bedroom with her bedtime Kong.
At some point after this, my husband goes to bed.
Pip and I stay up downstairs for a couple more hours before we go to bed.

If I have not initiated this routine by around 930 pm or so, Squash will start harassing me until I do. He really, really likes his bedtime Kongs lol. I started it when he was a puppy to give myself a couple of puppy-free, brain break hours before bedtime each night and just never stopped.

They get a treat dispensing toy to entertain them when they are crated and we head off to work.

After evening walk time Menchi gets a before bed wipe-down with baby wipes of her muzzle, feet, and belly to help minimize her allergies.

They get a treat before bed time.

Not really, except the nightly "pills n treats n teeth". She gets a multi vitamin, joint supplement, and back spray with a treat, then her teeth get brushed.

I think the biggest "routine" we have right now is that Abrams likes to drag his blanket and all of his toys out of his crate throughout the day. When I put his blanket and a bone back into his crate, he knows that he is going to follow and he'll put himself up before I'm even able to tell him "cage".

He gets a treat for going into the crate, as well.

Oh, and since the dogs don't wear collars in the house and they have an old beat up "outside on the chain collar", when I grab their collar with tags they know it is time to go somewhere. Putting on their tag collars and not leaving in the car with them (or on walks) is paramount to sacrilege. LOL

I always pet/pat the dogs before I leave and tell them to "be good."

We used to have a bedtime ritual, but not anymore. We don't go the same way on walks.

OOH! Car harnesses! Any dog that's lived with me or stayed with me for long enough to take multiple car rides knows what the Roadies are for! (And yes, they're different than walking harnesses.)

I always kiss Wesley on the poof of his head and tell him to 'be a good boy and don't get into trouble' when I leave the house.
In the morning before he gets let into the backyard I always say 'Wanna go out?' over and over until he is spinning with excitement and barking 'HELL YES' hahaha, bad me.
Running shoes going on my feet means it's time for Wesley to hide somewhere in the house if it's remotely hot out, does that count as a routine LOL.

With me, not really! They know when my dad gets home from work, he gives them a treat... and it's complete chaos in the house until it's given to them.
My mom gives them an afternoon cookie and I don't think Juno or Lucy really think of it much, but apparently Happy comes crawling out of her hiding spot every afternoon for it.

Otherwise the only other constant in their life is mealtime. Most other things I'm not consistent with!

Bed time we usually brush teeth (every other night or so for Jax) and then we go outside for last potty, come back in and he gets a 'Get Naked' chew. That's pretty much an every night thing.

Ummm, nothing else really 'routine', I guess except mornings he knows we wake up, I go into the bathroom, he goes and waits by the door to get his harness on to go for morning potty. I usually give him breakfast when we come in, get ready, I say 'bye Jax, I'll be back' and go to work.

Nacho wakes up at 5:30am, says good morning to all his teddies, moves them all to new spots, and then eats at 6am. He panics if he wakes up 5 minutes late. He also panics if I move his teddies, because some don't like each other and can't be near each other, or they'll both get time outs. It's pathetic, and I only wish I was kidding. LOL well, that's my human take on it ;)

We never really had routine with Rosey, because she'd get obsessive about it if we did.

Don't have routines with any of the ferrets, either.

If Ken wakes up and tells C to "do yer stretches" he knows he's going for a big morning walk. Spinning and barking commence.

When we turn the shower on, he runs and hides in the kitchen

After every shower he licks our legs as we exclaim, "Lip my stockingggggs!!"

The third snooze alarm is his opportunity to be obnoxious and get us up

When we leave for the day we yell "skull treats!!!!", grab a cookie from his skull cookie jar and he runs to his room.

We have "Last Call" every night at 9 o'clock. It's their last potty break.

Every dog gets one piece of buttered toast every morning, in a certain order, while sitting in a certain place. They never let me cook breakfast without their toast. Daizy barks at me constantly while making it. They also practice their catch skills because I toss it to them.

Everyone gets right in their cages after the morning potty, because it's time to eat, then they go back out again, they KNOW this routine so well it's unbelievable!

We don't have super set routines around here, although recently I realized I must say "are you hungry?" a lot before feeding because Yarrow entirely knows what that means now.

Jasper always sleeps in as long as possible, and I usually get up before my SO, so Yarrow and Onyx get up with me and Jasper stays in bed. He also stays up later at night with my SO if I got to bed first.

Onyx knows to run into her crate as soon as we go into the bedroom at night, maybe that counts?
