If you are in Alabama or close to. There is a little 3 month old pitbull chocolate and white, with a nuerological problem sitting in a shelter. I am assisting a local rescue in looking for a foster home. She WILL NOT be pulled from the shelter until we have a foster in place and ready.

She was found a few weeks ago in the woods by some people riding four wheelers. She is very "shakey". There is no cure for her problem and no one will probably ever be able to tell why she has a nuero problem, it could be from anything. Being the owner of a very disabled dog, there are many possibilities.

But I do know that she needs saved awefully fast. The disability make it hard on her to be cramped in a cage all the time- it can possibley worsen her making her joints ache and such.

I will take if her it comes down to rescuing her from being PTS, however I am starting college and am going to be short on time, so please if you have the patience for this little girl I PROMISE you will NOT be let down-rescuing a truely deserving disabled dog does wonders for your soul.

I can send more info if you are serious.

And thanks again. If you cannot help, please spread the word everywhere that you can. I have been steadily trying to let everyone know.

Thanks

I so wish I could help this little girl, but they are illegal here :/

maybe you could take her, take some great pics of her and find a pitrescue that can take her or maybe somebody somewhere else?

The rescue is called Bama Bully Rescue.BAMA BULLY RESCUE - Alabama's Bully Breed and Pit Bull specific rescue!
If there is anything you think you might be able to do, contact them directly and state you are inquiring about "Shakey"
Please help her!!!

I would-and I still might, however I have 7 now, 3 are rescues! 5 total are APBT! Its very hard to even squeeze one more in, but if I must to save her I must!

If someone further south of me can take her, I can more than likely help with transport. We're in the process of moving so my time has been somewhat limited because of it.

Not yet-the rescue says that she thinks her only option and chance is going to be tha the family that currently has her-is going to have to sign her over to a shelter-and PRAY that our rescue can get her out before it is too late. THEN they can advertise her as URGENT and such.

The shelters around AL are not good at keeping this breed fo adoption, they usually PTS ASAP. Its sad. Im scared for her:(

It's sad, but you can't save them all. And it's even harder to save those with severe disabilities with thousands upon thousands of perfectly healthy dogs with wonderful temperaments are dying every day.

Sometimes the best thing to do is spare the dog any more suffering (i.e. by having it live in a concrete kennel at a shelter) and just humanely euthanize the dog.

Dogs do not get all pissed off at us for euthanizing them, nor will they hate us forever after they are dead. Instead, we need to show more compassion and realize the kindest thing we can do for many of these dogs is to offer them a kind release from an unfair world.

If anyone wants to help-this is an email directly to the woman who can steer you in the right direction.

[email protected]

She has less email volume then the regular web site email so she will def get it.

Thanks
