I want to get a digital camera. I would like it to be able to do video clips, be easy to use, and affordable (as in camera< $300 USD) What do you recommend?

I saw this kodak commercial that had this small digital camera that also played videos. Since Kodak is getting their butts kicked would they charge low?

I've got a Minolta Dimage Xt that fits the bill. It's a bit of b!tch to use in low light, but it works well enough. And it does take sound video.

I would recommend any Olympus Camedia one. The line of them is pretty easy to use and takes great pictures and does video clips in .MOV format which is quicktime.

I have a kodak easyshare CX7430...works pretty well, takes video, under $200.

Don't know if it's one of the better cameras or not but it works for me lol!

Most digital point & shoot cameras have the capability to capture video to the capacity of the memory card.

Our Optio MX is designed more like a video camera than a still camera, has a 10x optical zoom and is quite simple to use. Likewise, my parents just bought an Optio S55 - a very small, but capable camera that you could fit almost anywhere....again, very easy to use. (add that on to the fact we also have various pentax film cameras and a family reunion starts to look like a Pentax convention!).

The best thing you can do is make a list of the features you want...like size, megapixel count, and price, then go to the store and hold several models that fit the bill, try them out and see which fits. Pretty much anything out there is capable...you just need to figure out what you want out of the camera.

My boyfriend just got a Fuji F10 and we absolutely love it. It takes great videos for up to 15 minutes and the pictures are really great as well. Plus it was less than 300 dollars. I can't rattle off all the technical specs, but my boyfriend is an electrical computer engineer, so you can trust his judgement. Here are some pics we took with it over the weekend.

I love my kodak easyshare too. Mymom does mroe with hers but hers was pretty expensive. Mine is just one of the cheaper ones but it still does videos and is more than enough for me. the softwares easy too which is what I usually hear people complain about.
Mine is a dx6440
