Just wondering if they chose what dog will be in the White House? Nobody is talking about it anymore, I know they said many people suggested a rescue dog. It would have to be a puppy since the girls are probably eager to play with him/her and also a dog that sheds very little because of allergies.

I think I had heard they were getting a GSD puppy, and it's being trained before it goes home with them.
That is Joe Bidens new dog.

The Obamas will not be choosing a dog until they are settled in... a very good choice on their part.

And this is Obama.

Not hearing something means it hasn't happened. Because when it does, we will all know.

Last week he went to the beach and then to the Hawaiian "Sea World" and then lost electricity. Its almost as bad as Hilton.

They said in April they'll get a dog. Still unsure on the breed or mix.

as to date, the Obama's are debating between a Labradoodle and a Portugese Water Spaniel.

Although I totally support adopting dogs from shelters and rescues, I almost cringe when I think of the DC shelters being swamped with Labradoodles, with everyone hoping that their dog will be chosen for the WhiteHouse. Or worse yet, animal control and rescue nuts kidnapping potential dogs in the hopes that a dog will be chosen at their particular shelter.

I also believe conspiracy theories.......

big is correct, they have narrowed it down to a Labradoodle or a portie...BUT...
they are still saying they will be ADOPTING a dog from a shelter and while they hope to get one in april they will take their time and wait for the right dog...

which is definatly pretty cool...but we'll see what happens. i also hope they realize that not all labradoodles get the "hypoalergenic" poodle properties...

Wait, you mean not all poodles are girls? :yikes:

Seriously though, I was in a debate on pit bulls on a non-dog board where someone insisted they are all male.

LOL!

More little pit bulls must be from poodles and pit bulls. Since poodles are all girls and pits are all boys.
