i went to the local place and they had Innova puppy food. So i remember reading about it on this site and bought it to replace the Purina One puppy that I currently have.

But then I came home and searched and seems that most people are getting the Innova Evo. Is there a big difference between that and the one I picked up?

This is what I bought. http://www.innovapet.com/products/default.asp?id=502

Hope this food is still good since my puppy chowed it down quick when I just gave it to her. I was shocked. Course I mixed it with her old food. :hail:

Innova (regular) is a good food ;) (a huge step up from purina) The Innova EVO is a grain free food :)

Innova Puppy with be VERY good for your pup ;) Like Jess said, EVO is a grain-free food. It would be a good idea to switch your pup to that when she is a year old.

What puppy breed do you have? If it's a large breed, regular puppy food is not advised, even less EVO, because it will cause him to grow too fast.

Teeny was on Innova Puppy until she was four months and then was switched to Evo. Most of the trainers I know have either done raw, Evo, or a combo of the two from 8 weeks old and skipped puppy food all together.

Whats wrong with Grain in the food?
Dog's don't need them, they should have protein from meat not grains. That said, some grains are just fine as long as there is a lot of meat in the food, Innova is an AWESOME food I don't think you HAVE to switch to EVO but if you do just wait until your pup is full grown.

My understanding is it's best NOT to feed Evo until the pup is finsihed growing. Evo is quite high in calcium and not recommended for puppies esp not large breed. Innova puppy is a great food.
