I'm interested too. If that actually works, that's awesome!

Their largest size is also slightly larger than the largest size of most other types of crates.

Yep, that's what caught my eye to begin with, actually. I'm thinking the 37"L crate will be big enough for Keegan. He's too tall for most 36"L crates, but they're usually only 25" tall; this one's 27" so I'm thinking that'll be good enough. My friend has a 28" tall crate and it's plenty tall enough (and impossible to find for sale now).

It doesn't look like it latches from the video... I'm going to guess it's like other drop-in doors and has a ledge it sits behind...

Totally wouldn't work for me. Where would I put all the crap I store on top of the crates? LOL.

This for me as well. But I do like the Idea. It seems like it would be a great space saver. The only thing I would worry about is if the door doesn't latch closed, the dog learning how to open it and get out.

I can't store much on top of my crate, Keegan would just pull it inside and chew it up.

He's not, like, an escape artist, so I don't need a TERRIBLY secure crate, but I'm hoping someone could tell me how easy it would be for the dog to just push the door up.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but even if it doesn't latch, you could probably just use a clip (like from an old leash) to clip 2 of the wires together at the bottom.

I have to do that with normal wire crates now since Panzer has decided that crates are for suckers sometimes and can now open the latch with her nose, lol.

When I was dogsitting the youngest of the collies knew how to open EVERY FREAKING LATCH. I ended up having to use carabiners for closing everything, including crates.

Okay so I don't know how to explain this, but the handle to pull up the door is the latch. Unless you move it the right way to unlatch it, the door won't go up.

I have something kind of similar for our dogs but instead of sliding up like that, you pick up then swing out and it goes on top of the crate. I keep Crash in one, and I've kept Psyche in one before, and I never had a problem with those two getting out, but from... 8-12 weeks I kept Simi in one and she escaped several times. I do like the garage style looks of these ones better, though!

The crate [FINALLY] came in today (almost two weeks after I ordered it :(), and so far I like it! It is definately a little bit bigger than most 36" crates (it's actually 37"), so that's good, Keegan fits in it just fine. I do feel bad, though, because I had been using a borrowed 42" crate for him, so he got downsized and seemed a little ticked off. But he's really only in there a few hours at a time so I figure he can deal with it, LOL.

I must say the door's kinda cool. I'm pretty sure Keegan won't figure out how to get out of it, but it's not terribly secure; if you had an escape artist, I think you'd need to find a way to reinforce it.

New crate, yay!
