Asking me if I'd be willing to breed my neutered male mutt to your unaltered female mutt is going to get you a dirty look at best.

Asking me at five o'clock in the morning when I'm dropping my husband off at work so I can have the car for the day, while I have a very mad almost eleven month old in the car seat and said dog is trying to sit in my lap while I shift because I forgot their car harnesses in our rush to LEAVE is going to get you a new arsehole. A big one. A big, bloody, painful one that consists of why you should spay your dog and how only douche bags back yard breed.

Go die, because NOTHING but my daughter squealing in delight when we get back to the apartment and she sees her swing is cute at five in the morning, including the "Adorable puppies they would make."

Ugh.

Generally when people ask me to breed my dog to theirs, I say "oh, so your dog's passed all the recommended health tests for breeding, then?". They're usually like ".......what?"

I pretty much just made her feel like an idiot in front of the entire company of soldiers. I hate mornings, and even more so when someone starts my day off by proving to me even more that most of society should be sterilized at birth. I need some coffee now.

That's something that's irritating when it isn't 5AM--having that conversation that early might get me to kill someone.

I once had someone ask if Elsie was fixed. I said, "Not yet."
He said, "But you're going to?" I nodded. He said, "Why?"

I said, "Lots of reasons."

He said, "But she's so pretty!" I said, "Yes, but she's not breeding quality--she's got some faults."

"Not to me," he said. I think I went, "Mm."

Then he said, "She's the prettiest husky I've ever seen, and I'd really like to get her coloring into my breeding program, y'know?"

u.u

I also get a lot of offers to buy puppies from her because "I've always wanted a German Shepherd like her!"

URGH!!

I used to give this lecture all.the.time when Classic was still intact.. mostly because his huge white balls stood out against his black bum and everyone with a girly dane would ask to breed him to their girls. Seriously. I even had to change our biking route a couple summers ago because we were getting hounded by one of our neighbors with a travesty of a black dane. What got me is that I made it very apparent that he had temperament issues (Please don't pet him, he doesn't like people) and they STILL wanted to have puppies out of him!

Yeah, I had a guy who showed me pictures of his 100lb "pit bull" that he wanted to breed to Edna, and then proceeded to tell me "you just can't trust these dogs in public...I used to walk him in crowded areas but then he randomly bit some guy on the leg"....That was actually a little shocking...

I have a very elderly neighbor who asked my mother if he could breed Bimmer to his black bitch of unknown heritage who, in his terms, is so wild she won't let people near her. WTF? Seems he was of the mind that if she had pups she'd settle down. I didn't rip him a new one when he mentioned it to me later as he is well over 70 and from a generation that really thought that way, but I did let my mother know in no uncertain terms that nothing of the sort was EVER to happen, and I encouraged him to get his dog spayed as he keeps her in a 4 foot chain link fence. :wall:

You guys all have such horrible stories! O_O I'm glad I haven't had to deal with too much of that. A few questions here and there like just if I was breeding my two dogs, thankfully no offers.

Ah, people, got to love them. This is why I walk with my Ipod and sunglasses on, helps ward off the idiots from initiating conversations while walking the dogs I find.

Someone wanted to breed their male golden to Strider once, "because the puppies would be so pretty!"

Some one, years ago asked if Blaze was intact. I said yes, and they asked if Id be intrested in breeding him to their "puggle". j.a.w.d.r.o.p. Their reason? they would want to see what the puppies would look like. i said even uglier then they are now They sure didnt like that conversation (sorry "puggle" lovers. I have yet to see anything but a sausage of a dog with bulging eyes around here lol)

It seems if you have a intact dog, you must breed them. no thanks. just because I have 2, doesnt mean they will ever be bred.

UGHHHH.

There's this one person at Petsmart that is CONVINCED that just because Logan has testicles, I will breed her a litter of puppies. He's gorgeous, I know, but that's not what his testicles are for. They really do have other purposes.

I can't even count the number of times I've been asked if Gavroche is neutered. What makes me the most irritated is when it's because someone wants to breed him to their white boxer bitch. Because breeding white boxer to white boxers is totally responsible

I've had a few people ask to breed their females to Bamm even though he is neutered.

I've had even more people say they want Cricket puppies and really want me to breed her. Ugh no

Haha one of my friends at work said the same thing lol. Seriously... I wish she was an actual breed and that she passed all the health tests because temperament-wise she is just amazing. Some people out here don't believe me when I tell them she is only a year old. She can be her goofy puppy self, but out in public she is mostly calm and very polite to people and other dogs. She has calmed so much in the past few months. And god is she beautiful. I want another crickee clone because more of her would rock lol
