De-worming for dogs

Hi!
I’m a huge animal lover and I was wondering if anyone could help me solve
my problem…
I have a dog who’s name is Elvis and a cat who’s name is Princess!
I’ve discovered that Elvis had worms, (is it possible that he got from other pets???)
so I want to my vet and he gave him a de-worming medication in a tablet form but he wouldn’t swallow it!!
I didn’t want to use too much force so I tried wrapping it with some sausage but he some how figured it out!
please help me!!

I read this trick somewhere, not sure where, but I thought it was the best method for giving a dog medication.

Cut up a few bite size pieces of bread, put peanut butter on it. First piece mix peanut butter with the medicine. Give it to the dog, and before he even has time to think that medicine is on it, give him another piece of bread with PB on it. This will force him to swallow in order to get the other piece in his mouth.

What types of worms does your dog have?

I prefer Safeguard Dewormer for dogs. It is a broad spectrum dewormer and comes in granule form. This makes it easy to administer because you just stir it into a little bit of canned food and they gobble it right up.

It takes care of rounds, hooks, whips and one type of tapeworm.

As far as administering a tablet form, I have found that cream cheese works great.

Sure way is to put it down the throat . Then put your dog and cat on once a month wormer .

Yup, down the throat is the easiest way. If you blow in their nostril, it makes them swallow also.

And at the clinic we always use Cestex for tapeworms, Strongid for hooks/rounds and panacur for hooks, rounds, whips (Strongid is cheaper for the clients so Panacur is basically just for whips).


And yes, animals can get worms from other animals. Especially cats who share the same litter box. The eggs go out through the feces and can be picked up through the yard/litter.

Hi!

about five months ago my dog Angie suffered from worms.
my friend told me to buy a de-worming pill and mix it with some chicken but
Angie figured it out and only ate a quarter…
that happened a couple of times unlit two months ago I’ve found a solution in a form of dry food that my Angie really liked and I didn’t have to force her at all !!!
you should try it …

I put tablets into the center of a cream cheese triangle - she is too busy wolfing it down to think about what's in it - not sure if that would work with every dog, but best thing I have found.
