Ok, I've never crate trained prior to these dogs. They just wandered about the house freely. I've always thought of Border Collies as a medium sized dog and so what I was wondering is: Should I be crating in a 42" crate or a 36" crate?
The manufactures say 42" but Shye and River are almost a year old and thereby will only fill out some and not get larger... but they have room enough to move around to the point of knocking over food bowls to get at a suddenly spooked and racing past kitty... by starting to run..... so they can more than stand up and turn around and I need crates for the Aussies which are size comparable....
So... what do you guys think? 42" or 36"? for Aussies and BCs? Thanks!
