I just sent the shelter an email about all this. I think they could use a heads up.
Keep being a smartass, because they have been given all the links to these threads.

Considering all your previous bashing of "pit bulls" and stating that only drug dealers and gang bangers would want to own such vicious dogs, I have every reason to question your motives here. And I've questioned such motives to those who run the rescue where you got your dog.

So I suggest you step up the plate and start acting like a grown-up, or go sit in the kiddie corner and do as you're told.
Ha! I was sooo hoping someone would cue in and do this eventually. Not that it's any of my business, but I'm entirely interested in seeing how this unfolds.

Gooood call, guys!

Thread may be deleted/edited later for indulged catty-ness {:

I really don't see what the problem is.

You said to the shelter that you'd neuter the dog. Just neuter him, then.

I don't understand why you even started a thread about this.

You would think, huh?

The problem is that she's changed her mind and since Jaws is such a awesome looking dog and nice dog, he's obviously the prime example of a "pit bull" thus it would be her honor to keep his testicles and possibly carry on those wonderful traits.

The only way she should keep that dogs testicles is possibly in a jar full of formaldehyde.

I really hope Jaws get's neutered.

I got an email back saying they were looking into it. Sounds like they thought she had one more dog at home, not a collection.

Hopefully they step up and take back any they have given her so they get the pups out of that situation.

Well, you know, we should all keep our dogs intact incase they ever end up being the last of their breed on earth. You just never know when your "perfect" example of your breed *cough cough * will need to spread his seed.

This whole thing is ridiculous. And why would you name your dog Jaws? It's just going to further the BSL crap.

I think the more people to contact them the better. They need to get all of those puppies out of there and get her name on the list at all the local shelters not to adopt to her or her address.

If anyone has an alter agreement to forward them that may help also. I am guessing they do have one-but just in case.

I'd be willing to make a donation if they get all these dogs back from her!

I think this is getting into VERY dangerous waters.

Into the realms of libel.

Till any of you have solid PROOF that this woman is doing anything wrong, I would just tread very very carefully.

You are correct if anything she types here is true.. I'd still assume as the adopter from the shelter she's on the hook for the proof he gets altered though.

Thats why when I emailed the shelter I told them I was not sure if she was just here trolling and making up stories for attention or what but I wanted to give them a heads up on whats going on.

I just asked a question. Hence the words "I thought". I might very well be confused with another dog she had taken in. No ill will was implied in my question. However, I can do nothing for the way you read my type on your computer screen.

And did you ask the shelter if you could make their reply public?

This is all making me very uncomfortable indeed.

It has gone beyond a witch hunt into something serious, and I think people are all getting carried away with their pitchforks and torches....

Fair enough, slag each other off to high heaven - but contacting the shelter? Who was giving the dogs away for FREE... posting their emails on the internet... Accusing this woman of all kinds of things (which may or may not be true - not one person here has a shred of proof) and not only accusing her, but actually spreading this rumor to people in her town?

Yikes.

In law, defamation (also called calumny, libel, slander, and vilification) is the communication of a statement that makes a false claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government or nation a negative image. Slander refers to a malicious, false and defamatory spoken statement or report, while libel refers to any other form of communication such as written words or images. Most jurisdictions allow legal actions, civil and/or criminal, to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against groundless criticism. Related to defamation is public disclosure of private facts, which arises where one person reveals information that is not of public concern, and the release of which would offend a reasonable person. Or an untruthful oath. "Unlike [with] libel, truth is not a defense for invasion of privacy."
My understanding is that the rescue was referred to this board and given links to various threads by BigDogs.

That isn't libel. BigDogs did post these threads.

I think there is plenty of this part:

in ALL of her threads.....

The shelter did not say anything to me about not posting their reply publicly. However I did remove that in the event it is what they prefer.

Noone has accused this woman of anything. The shelter has been notified of things she is saying. There is a huge difference.
