At Chris' brother's baseball game today we got asked if Maya was a
Weimeraner. Anyone else not seeing the resemblance. :D (FYI she is a beagle/lab/australian shepherd mix)

Thanks! I just thought it was so funny I had to share. I can't imagine how this woman thought Weimeraner, but at least it gave Chris and I a laugh.

That is okay, I've been asked if my pointer is a Great Dane. Or if my cockers are poodles. Or even a bichon (my cocker is choc and white!).

No, your puppy doesn't appear to have any type of Weim in her. :p

I once was asked by a Weimeraner if I was a Canadian, and I was like "no you weird dog I'm from Chicago". Man the nerve of some dogs.

I was once asked what breed my 2 furpals were by this woman who was waitig at the counter at the vet's office. The funny part was that she had with her 2 standard poodles and looked thoroughly confused when I told her my 2 were the same as hers. I guess she never saw poodles without a typical poodle clip.

I get asked if Sawyer is a border collie mix a lot. He doesn't have a lot of copper like most people are accustomed to seeing on Aussies, so I'll forgive that. But I've even had a vet tech tell me he was a brittany mix. *sigh*

Weims are awesome, but I guess I am just partial to German Hunting breeds. In the 70's my dad's Weim bitch had a litter of all black puppies. Most breeders said that they were useless becuase they caught the rare black gene. He ended up donating them to the Illinois chapter of Ducks Unlimited for a charity auction and they all ended up going for 1000's a piece.

Weims are beautiful. I had fostered one about 3 years ago and he was the best dog, I would have loved to keep him...but he liked to chew and I didn't have time to exercise him properly.
