I am a definite real tree person....the fake ones just annoy me.

Now, I am picky....I do local tree farms. I dont like the environmental impact of shipping them down from Canada and the like but I DO like supporting local farms who use part of their land to grow trees.

This is our first year with a real tree :) We went to a local farm that grows them (well as local as a 45 minute drive is haha). The whole experience was fun. horse drawn wagons, santa was there, free hot chocolate.

Very fun. I'm enjoying the real tree :D

Fake. I hate real trees. Messy, stinky, and wasteful.

Of course, I don't have one at all right now. Nowhere to store it for the other 11 months of the year, and I hate extra clutter.

I LOVE picking out real trees, I love having them in the house, I love the way they smell...

but I hate doing the work of taking care of them, lol. I don't like vacuuming up on the little shed-pricklies, I don't like figuring out what to do with them after (I have to find someone with a truck to borrow since we only have little cars). I grew up with one and I know we'll have one someday but we have a fake one for now : )

we've only had the tree up since Saturday but I'm loving it. It's so full and beautiful!!!! our fake tree is kind of a Charlie Brown tree haha. it hasn't shed too many needles yet.

Real tree for sure! We actually still haven't picked one yet, didn't like any of the ones we saw but didn't have time to go to the park where they sell loads of them. We're going to get an 8 foot or 9 foot as usual.

Boyfriend's house used to have real trees they just cut down in the forest that they own behind their house. However, now that his mom lives by herself, she can't do that and they put up a fake one. But I really really really love the real one smell so if given a choice, I would always get a real tree.

This is our tree from last year.

Your trees are beautiful. Love the pictures!

We use to always get real ones. When our kids were young, we'd buy a living tree in a pot and then plant it in our huge yard we had. There were Noble firs and some other beautiful trees. Growing up we always had real, cut trees. Then a few years ago I decided on an artificial tree because of the practicality of it. I do miss the lovely scent from the evergreens and it was fun going out looking for a tree. But I don't miss the mess, the increased fire hazard or the expense each year. I had a 7 ft artificial tree which was quite nice. But last year I got a smaller one to put on a table, as I have these two Poodle puppies and with their shenanigans, I thought this would be safer. It is easy to just pull it off the shelf in the garage and it's pre-lit.

I'm partial because my Dad is a grower... So real is my whole life story...

This is awful of me, but shows their huge tree (11ft)

Plus I don't get the environmental argument FOR real trees, the real ones get turned into mulch, or biodegrade to dirt... Having worked in waste management I've seen countless fake trees, one after the other, tossed in a landfill where they will be for many years and generations, that cannot be good for our environment.... On any level

I grew up with real trees, but I have a fake tree now. It was a family event to go out and pick the tree. I always spend Christmas back home with my family and they still have the real tree. A fake tree is just easier to deal with since it's just me and SO at home. Maybe some day I'll switch to a real tree again, but I'm pretty happy with my fake tree now.

Apparently the only picture I have of my tree this year has the dogs too.
