Ok so I need some advice. For Christmas... my brother and I went in 50/50 to get my mom a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas. Last night she told my sister what she is getting me for Christmas on Friday.... and she is planning on getting me the same thing! :yikes:
How can I let her know not to buy me it, without giving away that I got her the same thing for Christmas? Also I am not supposed to know what she is planning on getting me... but I guess that if it is for that reason she would understand lol
If it comes down to it, I am willing to just tell her that she is getting it already... but I would like to keep the surprise if at all possible.

How about telling her, all excited-like, "Hey mom, guess what I'm getting! I've wanted a Wii and Wii fit, so I am going to get one!"

Or would that not work?

Honestly, just let it happen. You'll all have a good laugh and then you can return one of the units on the 26th for a refund or a credit for a bunch of games.

Holiday times are stressful enough without manufacturing additional reasons to be stressed over perfect gifts and all. My in-laws have 3 kids (my wife, obviously, being one of them). One year, we all bought the same shirt for my father in law. Not just a similar shirt, the same exact shirt. It was a green striped golf shirt. We had a ball laughing about it (and it was ten years ago). We still laugh about it, especially when we see him wearing it. I always say, "Nice shirt, you got a spare?" and he offers me a beer.

Laugh at yourself and with your family. It's therapeutic. :)

Renee, I have no room in my room for it. They would honestly both be downstairs, on the family tv, so we would not be able to use them at the same time anyways.

Eddie, the thing with that, is I bought this one like.. a month ago. I do not have the receipt, and my mom is not one to keep one. My dad called back, I *think* he is planning on going with her, and just pointing out something else and talking her into buying something else for me

My sister told my dad, my dad told me, so we do not end up with 2 of the same things. These are $300+, may as well have different things

I'd let it happen. Plenty of places aren't going to need a receipt to return a wii right after Christmas, especially if you want to exchange it for something else. (like more games or whatever)
