Oh my, this is going to be difficult!

Sporting: Golden Retriever (< I am hoping to have one some day) or Nove Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

Hound: Either a Greyhound or a Basenji

Herding: Pembroke Welsh Corgi or Australian Shepherd

Toy: Pug

Terrier: (English) Bull Terrier because they have that uniqueness, and in second American Pit Bull Terrier. (I love "Bully Breeds".)

Non-Sporting: Shiba Inu or Chow Chow (I have or have had mixes of both breeds. Our first dog that wasn't a Beagle was a Chow Chow/Australian Cattle Dog mix, she was the best dog you could ask for. And I have a Shiba/Pomeranian mix puppy currently)

Working: Siberian Husky, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and Akita. (I like a LOT of breeds in this group, hard to choose, and I of course like more of them, haha. I plan on having either a Siberian Husky or a Golden Retriever when I'm not living in hick country where everyone freely shoots your dog...Sadly enough, they'd go crazy on a Siberian and claim it was chasing their cattle, even if it never went near them.)

What a FUN thread!!

Sporting: Clumber spaniel

Hound: my basset is my heart dog, but she's so atypical - so I'll go with the Plott :)

Working: Portuguese Water Dog (grew up around them, ALWAYS loved them!)

Terrier: APBT (though I've been completely taken with every Kerry Blue I've ever met)

Toy: Shih Tzu - have yet to meet one I haven't liked!

Non-Sporting: grew up with a Standard Poodle - no question here :)

Herding: Briard

Misc/FSS: this was tough - a lot of my favs are currently in this group - but I'm going with the Treeing Tennessee Brindle (because honestly, who can REALLY tell them from a Plott? ;) )

Sporting: visla
Hound: Beagle
Herding: GSD, what else?
Non-Sporting: standard poodle
Terrier: Westie
Working: Great Dane (again, what else?)
Toy: Papillon

The only one of these that I have never met or owned is the Pap- but based on the people who have them here, they seem like they'd be a good fit for me. As much as I enjoy Bruzer, I don't think I'd have another Pug.

This changes pretty regularly, so for TODAY:

Herding: Collie (of course), then Australian Cattle Dog.

Toy: Papillion for sure.

Terrier: Staffordshire Bull. In UKC, add Patterdale Terrier.

Non-Sporting: French Bulldog

Working: Greater Swiss Mountain Dog

My choices are:

Sporting: Golden Retriever. Years ago actually found one that was walking with us. I took a stick threw it in a pond and even though there were other sticks in it he always brought back the one that was thrown in. He had a rabies tag so I went to the police station and they contacted the owner by the rabies number. The owner came and picked him up from me at the police station.

Hound: Bloodhound

Herding: Border Collie

Toy: Japanese Chin. Ok I am biased, so what :)

Terrier: Parson Russell

Non-Sporting: Bulldog

Working: Boxer
