I don't see a 2016 puppy thread yet!? Wow, it really IS slow around here!

Come on folks, let's hear about those puppies!

My potential puppy was born last night! I had just messaged my breeder on Facebook earlier in the day to let her know I got the official "ok" from DBF to get a puppy, and wondered when exactly the litter was due (I knew it was sometime in March but she hadn't told me a due date), and she said officially she was expecting Saturday, but that mom had refused breakfast that morning so she figured in the next day or two. Then in the evening I got a message from her that 2 pups had arrived already!

Final tally is 11 puppies, 7 girls and 4 boys. I want a girl, so looks like my chances are good that at least 1 puppy will have the right temperament for agility! I had also told her that I really wanted a colour other than white this time if possible (colour being the least important characteristic to me, but I already have 2 white greyhounds so a change would be nice)... and there's only 1 parti coloured pup in this litter and it's a boy. So yay! There are 4 black girls and 3 brindles.

I can't put pics up here from my phone! On the Facebook group

Year of the corgi for us. Husband/We just got Preacher last month. He is a sweetie. I am not thrilled with his name (and have nothing better to offer!) but thrilled husband is doing the whole dog thing so whatever.

Hopefully agility and herding. He will at the very least work our sheep and geese etc. want to teach him to chase the stupid Canadian geese away that our ACD could care less about. Though Truman the doberman did herd the neighbors geese into a tight ball the other day?? He was proud of himself.

He is going to be getting a DM clear female as well. He does want to breed if all works out. We shall see! I've been surprised how involved he has been. Usually it's "oh I love this puppy-I think it peed, can you clean it up??!"

I noticed the lack of this thread!! I was going to post it but was wary that maybe it did exist and I somehow had missed it. :p

Does Hero count as 2015 pup or 2016? Oh well, I guess I got him so late in 2015 it might as well have been 2016, so I might as well post here.

Hero's doing very well, I'm very proud of his training so far considering he's the first pup I've had since... Well a longgggg while. He's the first dog that I have the sole responsibility over, so that's been interesting. So far he's been trained exclusively with +R, it's going pretty well! He's been growing fast, he towers over Crystal despite being only 3 pounds heavier. I guess that's what being all legs does to a dog :p

I'm very excited for your guys' puppies! :)

We are also expecting a puppy. Ours is coming in from Spain in June. A male this time. Another Berger Blanc Suisse or White Swiss Shepherd. The breeder today showed me pictures of the ultrasound confirming the pregnancy. She knew I was extremely depressed this week after losing Sheena last Thursday and wanted to cheer me up with an update on the pregnancy. This pup is coming from lines we only dreamed about being involved with. His name will be Phoenix. The due date is March 31st. The waiting is exhausting. Can't wait to show you pictures and admire your puppy pictures.

Yay puppies! I can't wait to see this year's group.

Nothing official on my end because I'm applying to grad schools, but to be honest, I may fold - a couple of whippets that I absolutely adore are being bred this year. One of them is related to my girl and I always said I'd jump at the chance to get a pup by this particular bitch, and my breeder mentioned her as being next on the list to be bred...gulp...

None of the names I had picked out for a future dog seem right... For a puppy not conceived yet. Hah.

Kennel name is 5 letters, but will probably be *****'s, don't know if there is a theme yet.

I am dying for a puppy update from my breeder. lol. I messaged her a few days after they were born just to see how everyone was doing, and she said mom and all babies were doing really well, and they might be getting a Chinese crested singleton sibling! ha ha. But no new photos or anything, and I am literally dying a slow agonizing death as I refrain from messaging her repeatedly like an annoying gnat.

Because really, it doesn't matter at this point. They don't have significant personalities yet for us to make a decision about which one will be mine. And yet, I am still itching to know MORE! ha ha

Krissy I know what you mean. The litter I am waiting on is due March 31st. I have been on a waiting list since the fall and I am going nuts counting the days till they are born. lol I can't imagine what I will be like after they are born and I am counting the weeks till he is 10 weeks and able to fly here. Even now it is hard not to email the breeder asking home mom is doing. I will probably drive her batty when they are on the ground but then she is also on my FB so any time she updates there I will also get updated and she loves to post pictures.

Takoda's breeder told me to friend her on FB because she updates her page more then the "kennel" one. We're treated to pictures and/or videos and updates numerous times a day. :)
