Chaz Puppies of 2014

Our progesterone testing marathon and surgical AI (frozen semen) were successful -- Mira was confirmed pregnant :).

She is happy and relaxed, hasn't missed a meal, and is just extra snuggly. Still playing with Monkey every day and demanding work and being her usual Helper Dog self :)

(We won't have a good count until X-ray time, but at this stage all pups are spoken for.)

SO AWESOME!!!! Will you still be able to provide photographic evidence of the adorableness that is to come, even though you won't be raising them?! Please say yes :p

I will definitely be there for their first week and probably again around eight weeks for their evaluations and to bring Mira back home so yes :).

Nuh-uh. I'm getting one. Michael will just think it's Cynder, until it gets big. :D

How exciting, congrats!

I have a slight dilemma. There's a Xolo breeder that was recommended to me to check out. The dogs are really really nice looking and I've been chatting with the breeder for a little bit. He doesn't breed often at all and mentioned to me that he is planning a littler for this summer. Puppies would be ready to go to their homes end of summer/early fall if things go as planned.

We have been talking about getting a standard size Xolo for a while now, but I was leaning closer to early next year (Jan-April timeframe). We are moving in August to NM so getting a puppy shortly after seems soon to me. At the same time this breed has a pretty small gene pool and an even smaller handful of responsible breeders that are actually trying to preserve this breed. I know I'm going to have to bend somewhere on my timeframe.

I still have more questions to ask this breeder so nothing is set in stone. He is located in Mexico and while his English is actually pretty good there is still a language barrier there. I've heard really good things about his dogs though from multiple people I have talked to.

I am all for buying dogs from Mexico WAAAY before you were really planning on a puppy!! (Onyx....). Go for it, if it feels right.

And also YAAAAY Mira puppies! Exciting!

And Falon, I love your two pups, what a pair!

Things took an unexpected turn and went from "Giant" to "Miniature". Future puppy coming this week is in this picture! :D

Well per our PMs it's actually refreshing to know it is the same breeder you are thinking of. I don't know a whole lot about Mexican breeders so I'm a little guarded in my breeder search. But... He was recommended to me by multiple people and his dogs are drool worthy. He only breeds standard size too which is what we are planning to get. Guess this means I need a puppy then?

I talked to my husband about it. He really like this xolo puppy an acquaintance has that came out of a breeder in NC, but he also does like the dogs through this Mexican breeder. He said though the timing is a little off he understands that sometimes you have to bend your timeframe for the right breeder if the litter they are planning is exactly what you want.

So.... I have been given the go ahead if I decide I want to get a puppy out of this litter. I just have to earn the extra money to pay for said puppy. Time to start saving just in case.

Alright, people. Stop getting small dogs. I came to the conclusion three dogs with two of them being large, powerful dogs isn't doable for me right now, especially when DH is deployed. But three dogs, with two of them being small to medium and "easier" (no potential for DA/HA)? Doable. So stop reminding me!

Shai! CONGRATS!

Big reveal! Assuming no huge changes to temperament or structure in the next few weeks, plain face red girl will be coming home with me. She's very quiet, confident, playful, and super snuggly. Everything I wanted it a puppy.

Pickup date is anytime after the 27th of this month. EEK!
