I saw you posted in here and I was hoping that's what it would say!!!

Btw I kind of remember reading some articles about women ovulating twice in one cycle, which I think may have happened when I concieved my first. Otherwise I think spermies can survive for 3-4 days! So even if you ovulate hours earlier than you expect, it can make a difference!! Those are pretty slim odds though!

Congrats!!!

Beautiful British Columbia!!
So. I am three days late. Took a test this evening. Positive.

Holy crap.

He was out of town when I ovulated. His swimmers would have had to have hung around for about 4 days. On the first month we actually had an opportunity to get pregnant. What are the freaking odds.

But...........OMG!! :D :D :D

Taking another test in the AM to double check, then doctor next

So surreal.
Woo hoo congrats I am so happy for you :)

Exciting! And if you believe some of the stories out there, you're more likely to have a girl because of the way things were timed. ;)

Oh, and I don't think anyone would, but please don't post anything on my facebook page about my pregnancy...I'm waiting to tell family until October when I'm home and things are more official. :)

Found an OBGYN in my core insurance network that's actually in my city and has good reviews. Feeling pretty accomplished. Going to schedule an appointment for next week (hopefully)! Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.

Get to let my coworkers know on Monday. I don't really know how this is going to affect my job....I won't be able to assist with xrays anymore. Will need to stay away from iso. And when I'm further along, I won't be able to lift/restrain/hold like I need to be able to do...I have a feeling I'll be bumped to receptionist duty before too long.

Also kind of perturbed because now I can't take my anti-inflammatories for my hip/back pain. Good thing the chiropractic care is helping! Tylenol and ice will have to do for now.

Now if only I'd stop feeling ill after I eat things. Bleh.

Just an FYI, most OBs here won't give you an appointment until you're at least 8 weeks.

I was kind of horrified when I found out I had to wait three weeks after testing to see a doctor.

Congrats

There have been recent studies, linking the use of Tylenol during pregnancy with higher risk of ADHD in the baby. I don't have the links anymore, but I'm sure if Google it, it'll come up and you can form you own opinion.

Oh, good to know. I'm going to try to not take anything at all, but I don't know how well that will work. Woke up at 4am this morning and had to pop a Tylenol and iced because laying down was hurting. *sigh* The chiropractor really is helping a lot and I'm only about a third through my treatment, so I'm hoping I'll feel even better in a few weeks. Before the chiropractor I was popping an Aleve every 8 hours and two at night (rx dose per my pharmacist father) and was still only moderately comfortable. I'm glad I'm not that bad off anymore or I'd be miserable.

I'll be calling on Monday to see about an appointment. If anything, I want to be seen by my regular doc just for a confirmation test and to make sure my vitamins are up to snuff. I assume the woman's health clinic will be able to see me, though, and while I doubt an ultrasound will be done, we can do the necessary blood screenings and my overall health exam.

I took a lot of Tylenol this pregnancy, but I took quite a few with Lil too for headaches. The biggest worry is first trimester, but honestly I think mostly if you're not taking higher than recommended dosage constantly you shouldn't worry TOO much.

With Lillian they gave me the crazy list of things to avoid but then I'd call with symptoms and they'd say "oh you can take benedryl" or "take a regular dose of ibuprofen" so the second time around I kind of took whatever is considered mostly/somewhat safe...obviously avoiding taking anything in excess and early on. I mean, they'll tell you not to drink peppermint tea or take a bath or get a massage or anything that has any teeny chance of resulting in anything....at that point you shouldn't even get in a car because God forbid a car accident causes trauma. A cup of coffee and some Tylenol most likely isn't gonna hurt anything, chugging red bull and popping a naproxen is obviously not a good idea.

Here if you mention you took a home test or think you're pregnant, they ask your last cycle and they will absolutely not make an appointment sooner. Even if you're high risk or have spotting or something. Even if you ask for a test to confirm.

You can 1. Lie about your last period or 2. Tell them your home test was negative but your period is late and you want to make sure it's not a false negative.

I did a blood test with my pcp and then followed up at nine weeks which is the earliest they will see at our office. They did do a dating scan then because they take no ones word on dates.

Seems like eight to nine weeks is normal for them to get you in.

I had to wait until 8 weeks as well.

As far as teching, I obviously didn't do xrays. I stepped out when they were filling the anesthesia gases, but I still did anesthesia, etc the entire time. I was able to restrain fine the entire time. At the very end, they had me not lift our ultrasound machine, etc, but that's about it. The other tech who was pregnant last year did the same.

I had a blonde moment and didn't realize you counted weeks by your last period, not your conception day...so I'm actually 5 weeks long now. I'm hoping I'll be able to schedule an appointment at the end of the month as I'm travelling up home the second week of October for a wedding and want to break the news to my family then!

I'm only anticipating the restraint portion being difficult due to the amount of large, fractious animals we see...don't think I'm going to be able to lay on top of a muzzled dog effectively. Haha I intend to still monitor for procedures, but just make myself scarce if we box a cat down and wear a mask if they're not intubated, just in case.

In other news, nausea can go and suck it. Blllllleeeeecccchhhhh.

Ginger mints were soooo helpful for my nausea!

I'm 29 weeks. I got one of my app's 29 weeks update and it mentioned pre-eclampsia and now I'm spazzing out about it. I know it's rare, but for some reason the risk of it is really bothering me. :\

I missed the announcement so CONGRATS!! How exciting!

I think I posted it before but my mom swore by oyster crackers when she was pregnant - she kept a bag by the bed and before she even got out of bed, she would eat a few handfuls. That was the only way she could keep nausea away - if she got out of bed first, too late! You may just be rather anxious and excited though and I'm not sure it will help with that LOL.

Have my first appointment in a week! The ultrasound will be the week after. I'm on pins and needles...just want everything to be okay and the baby to be healthy. I'm 7ish weeks along now. :)

I'm told it's normal, but I'm also a bit perplexed because I've lost 6 pounds in the past month. I was hovering around 144, now I've dropped to 138 (my ideal weight, I'm not too thin or anything). Just seems odd, because I've been eating almost constantly. Well, I suppose I've been *snacking* almost constantly. I'm not eating a lot at one time or I feel nauseous, so I'm just snacking throughout the day.

Now, I have a "baby reveal" question. I'm waiting to tell my parents until October when we're visiting for my brother's wedding. We'll be arriving up there on a Tuesday evening, with the wedding being Saturday night. Should I wait until after thr wedding to tell them, so I'm not stealing my soon to be sister in law's thunder, or is a few days enough of gap for the excitement to die down? I'm leaning on waiting to tell them until after the wedding, but it's going to be so hard not saying anything until then!
