went down to a place called camp little zoe to camp for the weekend, its the first time i have had bubba near water since he went blind so i was nervous, the first day my brother and i walked down to the waters edge just to see how they would do

first thing we saw was this cave

bubba had no problem walking right in without encouragement

my brother's basenji "August" aka Auggie

they were pretty pooped after the first day

ok Day 2, we met up with a couple of my brothers friends and decided on a 10 mile round trip hike back down to a different part of the river

their beagle "Lovely" introductions had to be made of course

ready for the hike

bubba took the hike really well, this is him trudging along behind us

best friends already

more coming

I can't begin to tell you how much I love seeing Bubba :) Everything about him, but especially the way the two of you just go about everything together -- and how fearless he is and how you let him be who he is <3

Auggie . . . well, if you miss him don't look here for him ;)

Lovely is a good name for her. She really is, and she's so feminine.

Ahhh Bubba's so cute! It's wonderful you still take him on such adventures - doesn't look like his loss of eyesight slows him up at all!

I thought I was the only person who'd ever named a dog Lovely (I caught hell for it!) :) she was a petite, feminine basset. She'd previously been "Speckles" and the lady at the shelter wanted to rename her "Freckles"... ick.

Oh wow! That is a gorgeous area. What fun! The dogs are all beautiful and it's great that they could enjoy this. It is very cool how Bubba has adapted to his blindness. He won't let that get him down. What a trooper. I'm really glad you all had such a good week end.
