Boise, anyone?

I'm taking the dogs with me to visit my cousins in Boise next month. We're from the beach in California and do a lot of hiking so I'm used to rattlesnakes and the occasional Search and Rescue helicopter landing to tell us to get off the trail because a brush fire was headed our way.

My cousins are average dog owners who let them sleep on the couch but don't really do stuff with their dogs. Can anyone give me some idea of what to watch out for? Toxic algae? Quiet venomous snakes?

Guys with guns who can't tell a cattle dog from a coyote. October will be hunting season for something.

Some rattlesnakes. Maybe cougars.

Cougers and rattlesnakes we're used to. Guys with guns, not so much. I'll have to see about getting them some safety orange gear.
