Since yoga has finally given me the flat and toned belly I've been wanting, I'm considering getting my navel pierced. Anyone on here have theirs done? What was it like? How was the pain? How long was the healing time? Does it come out a lot?

I have my ears (lobes) and nose (left side) pierced. My nose was incredibly intense for about a minute but then just burned a bit.

The clamp hurts the most, but it's a skin piercing so it's not bad. Make sure you have a good piercer though of course.

Healing time can be quite long depending on how you sleep or where your pants sit (my pants for my whites sit right across my belly button and it sucks and i know some jeans can shift and move your skin when you sit which gets uncomfortable) and it's one of the worst piercings i find for rejection as it's essentially a surface piercing. I've never had my jewelry come out before, i guess that would depend on quality though.

I had one in for about 8 months. The pain/healing wasn't bad at all.. it didn't come out a lot, and the clamp hurt worse than the needle as far as getting it.

BUT the pure annoyance of having it in made me eventually give up on it and take the **** thing out.
Got. caught. on. every. shirt. sweater. garment. and. HURTS LIKE HELL UGHHHH I see red even thinking about it.
I for one now gleefully rip shirts and clothing off my body and love not having to worry about it.

my friend who got hers with me still has hers and totally loves it. So hey, there's that lol

I loved mine...but my body just shoves jewelry out. Bummer. Did it twice. The piercing wasn't too bad. I even had it re-done (after it grew out the first time) behind the scar tissue, and that hurt, but still not too bad.

Out of my 90 bajillion piercings this is one of the few that remains. I didn't find it terrible, the piercing itself is always a quick pain... It's the clamps that stay on forever that hurt!

In terms of catching on things... I find that to be more a problem with the jewelry you pick than the actual piercing. Diamonds and dangly ones like to snag, soft round edges don't have the same problem.

I can't say how quickly it healed... I've had mine for over 10 years. I feel old now......

This. Other than having a ton of piercings myself all the rest applies. I didn't really think it hurt in any significant way. With proper care it should heal in 6-8 weeks if I recall. Like xpaeanx I got mine a little over 10 years ago back in college.

I just wear a hoop and ball so I have zero issues with snagging. I did try a variety of jewelry early on but lost a few "heads" and went back to hoops.

The only other piercing I've gotten besides basic lobe piercing was the cartilage in my right ear. It never really healed right, probably in part to getting infected shortly after getting it done when I swam in the Caribbean waters on a cruise. I wore that for a couple years and it always remained sensitive. Had to take it out for a surgery and I just never put it back in.

I had it done when I was 18, but I took it out a few years ago and haven't put it back in. It was kind of annoying while wearing jeans - it didn't hurt exactly, but having the waist of my pants push again a piercing wasn't comfortable. It didn't snag at all though and I always chose simple rounded ball type jewelry without dangly stuff.

The pain wasn't bad at all, and healing time wasn't long - maybe a couple weeks max? I had some other piercings in my ear cartilage and those took soooo much longer to heal.

I found mine pretty dang painful, though I have a low pain tolerance. Seatbelts were the worst for my healing period, which was about a year.

I had mine for close to three years and just took it out a little over four months ago. I just had a double ball ring in mine. After it is healed, make sure you change it out to a bar that fits correctly. I made the mistake of leaving my fresh pierced jewelry in after healing time and it made the hole grow a bit and probably lengthened the healing time as well from all the movement and snags.

I didn't have many issues with snags once it was the proper length and really enjoyed mine. Just felt a little too chubby to pull it off any longer and played with it too often.
