Sorry double post.

Seamus' change isn't that dramatic either but I will share it!

This is Seamus the day I brought him home, 23 September 2006. He was around a year old.

Seamus now, at around 8.5 years old.

I am super excited because I finally get to play! I adopted Leo at 8 months, but it occurred to me that the same rescue had adopted him out when he was a puppy. So I dug deep for puppy pictures and found some!

This is puppy Leo!

And a picture of Mom (clearly not too thrilled of the camera so close to her pups). Leo is the mostly black puppy.

And 1 year old Leo! He has gotten A LOT tanner in the face

P.S. Does Mom look like a purebred border collie to you, or a mix? What kind of color is she? She looks different than most merle dogs I know.

2 Weeks

5-6 weeks

8 Weeks - serious fat puppy stage

Then all of the sudden he wasn't fat, but his ears were weird

For a while we weren't sure what his coat would look like

And then he was perfect

To me she looks like she might be brindle merle (and ticked). It's hard to tell with just the one pic though but her color reminds me of some brindle merle cardis.

Just curious -- are you certain that puppy picture is of Leo and not a littermate or some such? In my experiences blazes usually get narrower and retain their overall shape (straight, crooked, etc), not wider?

I would say his blaze is narrower and does have the same overall shape. Specifically in that puppy picture, I think his hair is just a bit messed up, showing more of the white because it is spread out. His blaze definitely veers to the right a bit, currently.
I am pretty positive it is Leo, especially because he has a very distinct speckled/spotted right paw.
I mean, it is all guess work, so its definitely possible that it is a littermate. But I am fairly confident

Here is the only other puppy picture of him. Note his blaze is a tiny bit more put together, but the same speckly paw. Also the blaze goes way to the back of his head, which is an unusual marking.

Speckly paw

Blaze going more to the right.

Haha, I wasn't quite sure when I saw the first pic either. But I overanalyzed like crazy and became sure :rofl1:
