I'm too excited not to share a ton of random pictures. XD

Still getting used to the lens, but these pictures are better than many I have taken! Especially the indoor shots!

Thanks for looking!

Awesome pics! I love Recon's expression in the third one! And holy crap, is that Patton in the first pic? I can't get over how fast he's growing.

Yeah! And he doesn't slow down long enough to get any good pictures, obviously. Lol. Thought maybe he'd learn by example (Frag) but not yet. Lol

Thanks! I got the Nikon 35mm f1.8 G - just my luck, the day I got my taxes back my local camera store had one in stock- a model they said they never carry!
Awesome!! I'm really jealous - I found one on my local CL for $100 but someone else snagged it because I was out of town. Huge bummer because that's the one I'm missing (I havethe 50mm and the 85mm). The 35mm is definitely a good choice for dog and people photos on a crop sensor camera, I can't wait to get my hands on one eventually!

HaHa... I have the 35mm and the 85mm, I'm missing the 50mm.

I have this lens too and I really like the focal length of it. It's my favorite for indoors because I don't have to be like all the way across the room to get everything in frame. HaHa.

Great pics! I hope we get some good candid animal shots now that indoor is easier for you. ;)

LOL! How cool! The 50mm is the first one that I got just because it's so cheap. I kept meaning to get the 35mm next, but had the money for an 85mm and liked the quality so just sprung for that one. The quality of the 85mm is incredible, but the focal length on my DX camera is difficult (I think it comes out to about 135mm?). The 35mm is reaaally nice because on a DX camera it's right at around 55mm on a DX camera, and is definitely nice for indoor or close quarter shots. This thread has convinced me that it will definitely be my next lens purchase, although I might have to wait a bit longer.

when I bought the 85mm I was debating between the 50 or 85, my reason for buying the 85 was "I have the money for it now and it's it's way more expensive than the 50... I may not have the money for it later but the 50 is much cheaper and would be easier to buy later...." Than the 35 came up super cheap on CL so I nabbed it. I really want the 50mm but there are other things that are priorities over my camera... like acquiring a full set of all things kitchenware so when the SO and I move we have what we need to cook with since I'm sure with the mortgage, our current eating out habits are going to have to stop... actually, they're stopping now because quality kitchenware is freaking expensive... and what I have now is worthy of its own pity party. HaHa.

Lol- I'm taking a trip to texas in a month and I was actually looking at craigslist there! I found a newer used one for $125 and was going to wait and hope it was still available... then impatience got the best of me. XD I was originally going to get a 50 and the friend of mine that shoots weddings told me I'd be happier with the 35 inside, and I think he's right.

WHO IS THAT LITTLE ACD?!?!?!

lowercase

Eta: oh! It's Bart! Yes. I must meet him ;)

And AWESOME pics!!!!!
Hehe! Thanks!

I can't wait until we're at a trial together so that you can meet him! Jess and I always make our dogs take pictures with look-alikes. You'll have to get one of Cross and Bart together for sure!

Definitely! I just have to keep my house cleaner so that you chazzers don't judge the untidy abyss that I live in. :p

How about you join the club? C'mon, you know you need another. ;)

And thanks! Overcast days will never cease to amaze me for pictures.
