We bathed the dogs yesterday. Spencer was great as usual. Just those pleading eyes, 'stop it mummy, pweese'. Then there was Maddy. She was sooo scared of the water. Her first bath here. She wouldn't let us wash her let alone put a drop off water on her. Next time we're going to put her in a tub instead of the hose and leash way we usually do it. Any other suggestions?

Treats LOL!! Lots and lots of treats. Feed them to her throughout the bath so she knows that bathes are good, they mean food.

lol. Yer, she's a food fanatic(sp?). I had treats in my hand. She sniffed, grabbed a few then tried to get away when the water came a little closer to her. I was trying to make it fun by spraying the water in the other direction in the air a little. She tried to eat it. lol. ut as soon as it got to her, she tried to run away. lol

Well, put her in the water, and feed her treats. Have someone give her treats while you're washing her. Distract her from the water.

Wendy hates baths too... As for Maddy, Do you at least have the tub part?Or are they those cool-new-hip standing showers?"It for have a standing show, smear peanut better on the side of the wall, and lightly put the water on warm, so it's not coming out fast, just dripping.Let her get used to that for ten mins, and put it on a little more.Cover up the drain with a couple rage and smear more peanut better on the side so she wont get scared.Turn it up a little higher. And repeat after ten mins.Get her used to standing in water. When she gets used to it, start rubbing a wet wash cloth on her. Then put a little soap on and gently "massage" her shoulders and next.Praise and pet.Repeate, but with more soap, praise and pet.Get soap all over her a step by a step.Do this method for about ten times, then start putting the shower head on high with a little peanut better on the walls. She might just rush right in, by then you should just be able to wash her without a fuss.Buy a kiddie pool, or if she is small enough, put her in one side of the sink. But only fill both of them up a little, then a little more... and on and on and on. Use the same method as the shower technique (sp?) . If you DO have the tub part, but not the rushing water out of the faucet thing, fill up the tub a little bit with water from running the shower, and lift Maddy up and put her in carefully with peanut butter still on the walls, just like the shower techneique(sp?).Do the soap method and water method, putting a little more water in each time. She will eventually learn to enijoy it!after a while, you can put her in there, put the water on, and watch her from behind the curtain. Then you put some soap on, lather, rinse, and then put the shower on again. I hopethat helps!
