I don't have many names, just because I don't really think much about them lol however I do have a couple favorites.

Judah - I just love this name and if I ever have a son this will be his name. I just think it's such a strong name

Ruth - just find it so beautiful

A more uncommon name that I probably won't use, but still think is beautiful... especially when said right is Hadassah. If I did use it, it would be a middle name.

Jane is such a pretty name but I really like the names I choose to have nickname options (although I guess Janie counts and you could use Jay) that's the only reason it's not on my list

Wren is on my list of names, and I love it, but DH says people will think of Ren and Stimpy. >.< I disagree, but... *sigh*

I disagree as well. I didn't think of ren and stumpy until your comment. Tell your husband I say he's wrong.

Tyler mentioned me liked the name freya. I'm not in love with it.
Yeah, I have a very dear friend named Wren that I used to babysit when she was younger. She jokes that she's going to change her middle name to Like-The-Bird because she usually introduces her self as Wren Like-The-Bird, but she never really got many Ren and Stimpy references from her name so that was good. She even grew up during the Ren and Stimpy heyday, and it still wasn't an issue.

That was kind of my point - maybe it would've been an issue when we were kids and Ren and Stimpy was actually on, but no one in the next generation is going to think that, and people in our generation might think it, but they won't be stupid enough to tease a kid for it.

Having to introduce oneself a "like the ___" does give me pause though - it's annoying enough to have to spell my name out periodically, I cant imagine doing that MORE frequently.

I say Falon, like Jimmy Fallon. Which works great. Having a northern accent and living in the south...I get called Felon a sad amount of the time unless I use the "like..." line. :/

I would never in a billion years think of Ren and Stimpy if someone introduced themselves as Wren.

The only issue I could maybe see is people asking if it's with a W or not.

I did grow up in the Ren & Stimpy era, and even I wouldn't think of that first :)

Ruth was our second choice for DD Lucy (otw- adopting from Ethiopia). We loved Ruth/Ruthie- but ended up choosing Lucille/Lucy. And obviously I love Judah... since dog is Jude. Sometimes I kick myself for using it for Jude because I love it for a baby.

I LOVE Jane. I love June too (a little more) but love both. So classic and rarely used- with cute nicknames for when they're little.

Sorry to Erin and Hayley who have to hear me ramble about names all the time on a daily basis hah! :)

We have a super super solid girls name list that we are in LOVE with. Will not choose a name until we know if it's a girl- and then we'll probably choose right away ;)

Girls list:

Imogen June
Ingrid June
Adair June
Amelie June

Our boys list is a bit more pitiful. We have 3 we love, but concerns about two.

Boys list:

Charles August (will go by August/Auggie)
Charles Arthur (will go by Arthur/Bear- the meaning of Arthur)
Charles Hugh (will go by Hugh/Huey til he's old enough to hate me for the nn)

Fiances name is Charles Taylor- goes by Taylor- hence the tradition.

Arthur is the only one we're certain on. August worries us because of the Fault In Our Stars movie and the main character being Augustus- suddenly we're noticing August on a lot of lists- even tho it's in the 300's on the SS list. We love Hugh- but the daughter we're in the process of adopting from Ethiopia will be named Lucille/Lucy (we named her a year ago) and we worry if we ever call her Lu- that sounds dumb with Hugh.

Emile was our top name for foreverrrrr until we realized Emile and Lucille sounded ridiculous.

What would be your thoughts if you met a baby or child named Mary Jane?

I think it's a sweet name, and was very surprised to find that most of the responses on the name forum I frequent were that people would immediately think of marijuana or judge the family/parents for naming the child that.

Lots of given names are slang for drugs, and mary jane is a pretty dated/no-longer-used term. I'm familiar with it, but if I met someone called Mary Jane that's not the first thing I'd think of.

I actually think of the type of shoe first. Would the child go by Mary Jane, or just Mary in every day life?
