Teaching baby how to walk a dog properly (Or teaching dog how to walk a baby ) was one of the hardest things ever, especially when your dog is a Beagle ( They are terrible at walking on the lead).
They had to learn how to cooperate together and my daughter learned one the most important things in life - No matter how many times you fall down, you have stand up and keep going.

Kids are natural dog trainers, it shouldn't be a problem with kids, but with a baby, they do not have developed sense of balance or motor skills yet. Give it some time.

I can give her all time in the world, but she is more stubborn than me and always wants to walk alone with Charlie.

Safety concern

I can't help but say this doesn't seem safe (especially the flexi ). Another poster said it gentler than me: wait til Baby is older.

I was thinking the same thing, I was anxious the entire time I watched, IMO its an accident waiting to happen.

Now we found perfect solution, dog harness and double leash so i have control now and she doesn't know that

You leashed your baby to your dog? That doesnt sound much better IMO. I would just tell her she has to wait until she is bigger, saying no (to a dog or a kid) isnt a bad thing.

Nope, i leashed dwo leash to harness, and i holding a shorter one. Finally she gets bored anyway

That still doesnt sound ... safe? I mean, what if the dog takes off after something and pulls the leash out of your hand or something?

I'm surprised at the reaction here - I think that this is adorable! You know your dog and how he will react to various things (and I never saw your baby with any leash wrapped around her wrist so that she wouldn't just let go if the dog pulled her over) Plus, the double leash is a great idea - I wonder how long it'll take for her to figure out that you're connected to the dog too! We used to do something similar with horses except that the kid would get the end of the lead rope and there would be someone in between making sure that the horse didn't do anything stupid.

I grew up with a beagle and they're perfect "kid dogs." Just so happy-go-lucky and bombproof.

I'm glad you've gone to two leashes - it seems like a perfect solution! There were def a few moments in the video that gave me pause (like when the flexi was wrapped around her leg or the dog was rather hogtied by the leash), but a second leash solves that nicely!

I was actually waiting for the reaction...in video, I did not feel that was safe. But I think the double leash idea isn't that bad. Yeah, there's a risk of it getting pulled out of parents hand, but really...maybe we should wrap her in bubble wrap until she is 18?

I remember long time ago, I was meeting friend with my dog and she had her 4 y/o with her. Girl was persistent and wanted badly to walk the dog. I simply held onto the main part and controlled the dog and let her hold the very loose end, making her feel like she was.

She somehow survived. I of course, don't agree letting a child just loose with a dog like video, but if you are controlling and child is only feeling part of the experience...I think the harm to come is minimum.

Chance? Sure, but there's pushing a kid into the street and there's holding the kids hand as you cross the street.

A person can never know how their dog will react in any given situation, things happen, dogs chase stuff, etc ... IMO the original video is a risk I wouldnt be willing to take, for dog or kid.

Yup, basically what everyone else said. There were a few moments in the video that worried me but the two leash idea is an awesome solution and I've heard of lots of people using that method before

Well, Josefina always got along with other dogs then suddenly, one day she decided she wasnt going to put up with other females anymore, so dogs CAN surprise you, they might now be tigers, but they arent machines, either.

and one day you're sitting in your car and a thousand pound oak branch falls on your car and kills you. **** happens. I'm pretty confident I could put any of my dogs on a leash with my 1.5 year old holding it on a walk. and they are tigers. I could have them in a down before a 4foot leash ever got tight enough to pull him off his feet and if he did, he'd probably like it anyway.

anyway some people don't often make good choices in life, and others can make the same choice and it's perfectly fine for all sorts of reasons from time, management and knowing the situation to just flat out dumb luck. having a dog run off and pull a baby is probably one of the more minor things that would ever happen to the child anyway.
