Great pictures for the first assignment, relections! Just a few things to remember: These assignments are a great way to practice your photography skills. If you go out to take pictures with a theme or a goal in mind you often end up with more interesting shots. Try to go out after the assignment is posted to take pictures, you can post older ones that you have too, but the idea is become a better photographer - and practice is the only way to do that.

Your assignment is to get up close and personal with your subject. Be creative and lets see what you come up with! Report back here with your favorites. You can let us know what kind of camera you have, lighting conditions, if you had any trouble, give feedback to other's pictures, etc.

Happy Shooting!

I'll have to give this a shot if the whether ever improves.

Here is a few older pics I took when I first got my Nikon D40.

Gotta get back to work (lunch is almost over) but thought I'd throw in a couple of pics.

Just got back from vacation, and my younger sister wanted closeup photos of shells to put in her bathroom (and didn't want to pay a professional). So I spent some time stalking shells on the beach.

Got up close and personal with a Harris hawk. He had a heck of a lot to say.

I think this is a Lancet Clubtail, but I'm not sure. Yay for summer! Back to harassing dragonflies!

Reggin: Nice shots! Especially like the ferns and spiderweb.

Bane: Nice portrait... Looks like Lexy has more to say than Chester (the Harris hawk).

Snark: Thanks. :) Lexy does indeed have many things to say. She has quite the vocal personality. She was rather annoyed with me that day. :p

Found this guy in front of my house yesterday evening.

I might have a close-up of his tail to share later, but I have to get to work!

k9, thank you so much for posting these assignments! It has been sooooo much fun keeping an eye out for new and interesting subjects to share. :D

This picture is very difficult for me to post. This is my beloved Toby. He died back in November at the cost of my irresponsibility. I know now what I did wrong but this picture... with those eyes... it just haunts me. I miss you dearly Tobes

Here's another one! I have an upside-down tomato planter in the backyard, and it is actually starting to bud some itty bitty tomatoes!

I did a bit of editing with the colors and stuff, just to play around since I don't do a whole lot of photo editing. I like the way it turned out. :)
