Because you should only breed black and white dogs. To prove that color doesn't matter. Or something.

Right, and that.

Well you can just give your fake border collie puppy to me then.
I CALLED DIBS! He's being released in to my backyard. a/k/a "The Wild"! There he will run through the meadow with my soon-to-be-borrowed Flatcoat puppy and the world will be perfect.

lol. Exactly. Because you know if they are monochromatic then they don't have color. So you CAN'T breed for color.

Totally foolproof.

Have you noticed your dibs list is filling up with all merle puppies?

Bean, Steve's baby: AKA your Aussie and not a real BC is adorable and up ears totally and utterly rock.

And the amount of hate for merle in the political BC world makes me laugh. I like your fake Border Collies.

If your border collie is black and white, the sheep will think the dog is just another sheep. They need to be both black and white because sheep can be black or white (reference the song "Baa Baa Black/White Sheep).

If they are merle, the sheep will think they are being chased by a mangy hyena.

You send Bean here. I'll send you Gusto, who is appropriately colored but half terrier. Oh dear. You'll have a sport mix, and the sheepdog people will hang you from a higher tree. You're screwed either way. Might as well enjoy the ride.

Well if one of you people would pony up and send me the dibbed puppy then I would politely removed myself from the other lists :p

Careful. If he doesn't stop barking at the cats, I might take you up on that offer!

I am reminded of my sig quite often in these threads. It was from being in GSDs and the colored GSDs vs WSDs, but is still appropraite. No good dog is a bad color. For realz. He could be purple spotted, but if he's a good dog (and all dogs are lol) his color shouldn't matter. :p

(For the record, I'm not a fan of WSDs or whatever, but that's another debate entirely :p )
