Just curious is anyone has ever tried or does give their dog Noni Juice? I have searched and it does come up with plenty of sites that talk about Noni Juice and dogs. I was reading the ingredients on some and it lists Grape Juice. Isn't that a no no?? Very confusing. Although there are some that say pure Noni. My girls like fruit but grapes and raisins are not allowed.

Here is a couple sites to start with.
http://www.mlmtrainingcenter.com/noni_for_pets.htm

http://www.infoforpets.com/page6.html

I like the second site the best.
Again I just found them while investigating Noni. I'm still not clear on the whole thing due to one brand having the grape Juice as an ingrediant. We like to use alternative for our selfs so our girls see just started with a Holistic vet. I guess this will go on the list of have to ask.

May I ask - - what is Noni Juice?

I also have heard that grapes and raisins were very bad for dogs, so Brady gets none of that.

Well guys, it's been quite awhile since this thread's been used, but here's an update on Noni juice:

Charley decided to try some since he has extreme damage to his knees and they hurt quite a lot. He talked to a guy who is even taller than he is and weighs at least 60 pounds more and has the same kind of damage to his knees. This guy was almost completely debilitated. He's been drinking the Noni juice for 6 months and he's walking with no limp and his pain is gone. Charley's been on it for almost a week now, and he came in last night and announced that he noticed that his knees and feet hadn't hurt for two days . . .

The stuff could really be the trick for pain from worn joints. His knees are really awful - one of them has virtually no cartilage left to cushion the joints!

I just asked my mother (who is very, very interested in natural treatments and has researched quite a bit) if she'd ever heard of Noni Juice. She says it is very good. We have Noni pills (you see the cabinet. It's jam-packed with natural treatments).

Noni Juice

Hi All,

I Have a yorkshire Terrier 13 years old ( Twix) diagnosed with Renal Failure , she was diagnosed in October 04

She has just been re admitted to the Vets ( 20/04/05 ) and become very ill indeed. The Vet saaid he will try to do all he can to get her back up on her feet but if there is no change by the weekend (23/04/05) he will discharge her back to me for her last few days .
The Vet has given her no more a few days to a week i am beside myself as we all are when we have to cross this bridge with ones we love.

I have been using Noni juice myself for a couple of months now and i have to say i feel a little better in myself ( but that could just be down to the fact im drinking somthing healthy for once in my life !

I have read all the hype around Noni and its benefits and dont really belive all the hype but i am none the less curious and have nothing left to loose .

As Twix is reaching her last days ( and me being somewhat desperate ) i am going to start putting her on a small dose of Noni just as my last ditch attepmt to help her.

Please if anyone knows of any reason why i should not try this please email me ,the vets have given up more or less but have been excellent. Unfortunatly this condition is incurable and very swift once the kidneys have failed.

I will update you all as time progress's and let you know

Thanks

I really don't see how it could hurt. I know one man who's used -and continues to use - the Noni juice to keep his diabetes completely under control. A lot of people have very good results for a myriad of different things with it. Just make sure that it's the pure Noni juice and doesn't have grape juice mixed in with it. The grape will just exacerbate the problem.

A Site That Sells Noni For Pets

www.healingnoni.com
Here is what they say on the site:
"Nowadays many pets are experiencing similar diseases as humans because of the low quality of the pet foods . Noni has helped many dogs with arthritis and has similar benefits for pets than it has for humans.

Noni juice can be applied to your pet with a tube. Another option is to mix noni powder into their food. Noni juice can also be applied topically for many conditions.

We have received many testimonials from pet owners who have seen their pet's health improve from Healing Noni juice. During his research on Noni Juice, Dr. Neil Solomon, M.D., Ph.D., became keenly aware that noni's healing influence didn't stop with humans. Thousands of animals, both farm and domesticated, have used noni with results just as amazing as their human friends."[/FONT]

;) Hi,
They sell it by the gallon!
PLUS, if you read the faq's they tell about what it can do for your pet and the type of problems it can assist in healing or easing in some cases.

Very beneficial site!....I USE NONI on myself and my 3 dogs and the one that really needed it, has improved in less than 3 days I seen her energy, less affects of arthritis, breathing, and the loss of puffiness from what must have been toxinsm and finally her fibro cysts that were humungous and hard have softened and shrunk half the size, giving her ease and such a better look in her happiness and comfort factors. She plays like a pup at 11 years old and I would recommend NONI for your pets. JUST BE CHOOSEY and NO GRAPE JUICE added to it. Read the labels and it will tell you in the OTHER ingredients what juices they have added. Pure Noni is much better, just add it to the food or a treat or water.

You won't regret it! HONEST!

:) I call it a NEW BEGINNING TO LIVE HAPPY
:)

:( Getting old should not be painful
for all the years one puts into getting there!

God Bless!

Here is some additional information on noni juice from someone who is an expert in the feild of holistic medicine...Dr Weil:) . Basically Dr. Weil says...Just say No to noni juice. I hope this helps you make an informed educated decision before throwing your money away.:)

I think I'll trust a well known highly eductated Doctor over some hype:) There are much better holistic and homeopathic remedies out there for every thing from Cancer to Arthritis.

Noni Juice comes from the noni or morinda tree found in the Polynesian islands as well as Hawaii. The tree produces a knobby, foul-smelling fruit that has been used as a traditional remedy by islanders, particularly as a laxative and topical application for skin ailments. Noni juice is a pricey, nasty smelling and sour tasting product aggressively promoted through multi-level marketing as a treatment for just about any health problem you can name: cancer, diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, arthritis, psoriasis, allergies, sinus infections, menstrual cramps, ulcers, depression, head lice and on and on. All this has resulted in $1 billion in worldwide sales for the company that manufactures and sells Noni Juice.

Despite the health claims and the enthusiastic testimonials of customers, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that Noni Juice is an effective treatment for anything at all. Although some laboratory research has demonstrated potentially helpful effects on cancer cells, no human studies have been conducted so we have no way of knowing if the lab findings will translate into useful treatments for humans. A researcher in Hawaii received a advertisement

small grant last year from the National Institutes of Health to conduct the first scientific study of Noni in human cancer patients.

The most damage Noni Juice is likely to inflict is to your bank account. However, anyone with kidney disease should avoid it because its high potassium content could lead to high potassium levels, a danger when the kidneys aren’t working normally.

While it is true that Noni has been used in traditional Hawaiian medicine for many years, it was rarely taken internally, except as a laxative. Instead, parts of the plant were used for a poultice applied to wounds and used to treat skin disorders. You also might be interested to know that in 1998, the manufacturers of Noni Juice were charged by the Attorneys General of Arizona, California, New Jersey and Texas with making unfounded health claims and were ordered to stop advertising the purported benefits until they could provide scientific backup. That hasn’t happened. The government of Finland has banned the sale of Noni Juice until ads are revised eliminating unsubstantiated health claims.
My recommendation? Say “no” to Noni.

I give Noni Juice to my dog

Just saw this site, and want to say that I've been taking noni for a few years,
and I also give 1/4 t. to my spaniel everyday.
(and shes a special service dog, as I'm disabled)

I just put the juice on a spoon and she licks it all up, any that falls she gets that too, she loves it, and shes as fickle as it gets,
I have to cook for her, I don't mind it though, at least I know what shes getting.

She's old, (9 years), and the Noni juice has restored a jump in her step.

If anyone knows for sure why I should not be doing this,
please let me know,
but so far I only see good coming from it.

BTW, I was in an extremely bad motorcycle accident, which left me with an amputated leg, and RSDS on the residual limb,
RSDS in an extremely painfull condition!!

All I take for the pain is Noni, its all I've used for a few years now.

The Drs. had me on Morphine, and it not only didn't relieve the pain,
but it put me in a worse state than the injury did!

Also don't go spending a small fortune on Noni, if you shop around you can get pure noni for about 50.00 a gallon, plus shipping.

I also use only pure noni, nothing else added, and you should get your noni from Hawaii, not French Polynesia/ Tahiti,
as all of the underground nuclear testing that was done by the French all those years, has played havoc on the soil, and I don't care what anyone says, all that radioactive smut, in the soil is not productive for healthy growing of foods.
