Just wondering if anyone else on the forum as a FitBark for their dog(s)? Kili has had hers since New Year's and we really enjoy it. It really does show the huge difference in activity level for us between winter and spring, and also what a big difference getting to take her out on my lunch break when I bring her to work has on her numbers.

During the winter we bought a membership to a doggy daycare that has a treadmill service, and I would take her in a few times a week to jog for an hour. Now that the snow is gone and it is light out for longer, I'm able to take her jogging or biking, or just for an off leash walk more often. We are also able to play agility in the backyard, or head off to the local park to chase a disc or too.

Anyway, we really like it, and just wondering if there's anyone here that has it that we can add to our "friends" list?

Here's Kili on the treadmill this winter:

I don't have one, but I've been intrigued by them. I was looking at Whisper because you can track so much stuff. But in June I'll be doing doggie daycare/using a dog walker and I've been thinking about it to see how much exercise they get.

Do you think it's accurate? I had a fitbit and I had to take it off too much to be accurate.

It seems to be reasonably accurate in the sense that it's giving your dog points for activity, not calculating calories burned (not sure if that's something that fitbit tracks?).

It tracks 3 activity "levels" (rest, active, and play) and within those levels assigns different numbers of points for the intensity (for example, we get "play" points for leash walks, however we get more points for jogging, and even more for off leash running).

I think it's fun to see what Kili was up to overnight, or during the day in her crate. Sometimes there's a random burst of "play" for 7 minutes in the middle of the night and I wonder what she was up to!

You do of course need to keep the dog's collar on if you want it to be accurate. I know some daycares take collars off for safety reasons. I'm always curious what her numbers are on agility trial days, but it's never accurate because her collar has to come off when we go in the ring, and sometimes I don't put it back on right away.

Thats a really nice way to train your dog and burn some calories.

Its not the same as dog walk but still moderate physical activity used properly is really good for organism !
