Hey Chazhound! I haven't been on here for awhile, but isn't it great to be back? Well, it's been a year since I got Tiger checked out at the vet. And I DO NOT want to return to the same vet I visited last time. They charge RAPE prices they were really racist to my sister and I.

I would like to know if anyone knows any vet thats affordable, around the New Yoryk City Area. I would even go to NewJersey if its possible to take the Path train over! I just don't get why the vet went to last year charged me $350+ dollars to ONE VISIT! And he didn't even do much.

Also, they had very bad costumer service. I presented a coupon, officially emailed from AKC, for a FREE FIRST TIME VET VISIT, and they didn't even deduct the price of the vet visit ($88).

I just turned 16, but I was still 15 at that time, and I had to pay for it myself. Ughs, thinking about it is getting me so angry!

Thanks in advance :)

I don't live in NYC, but I just have to say that is freaking RIDICULOUS for a check up. O.O

I can recommend a lot of good Texas vets but NY is a bit out of my league.

But as far as the coupon goes, we don't honor those either. Easy to duplicate them and we get shafted out of money.

The one I use is in Chestnut Ridges NY, The Vet at the Barn. A little pricey, but excellent staff.

You might also want to try Rockland Spay & Neuter Clinic & Animal Hospital. I took a cat there for a spay - mind ya, that was maybe 10 years ago - and it cost $35 for the spay and all necessary shots. When I first got Ares, we went there because I didn't know where else to take him, and it was under $100. But again, that was 8 years ago. The staff was friendly as far as I remember.

Vet at the Barn is a great place! two thumbs up... not my regular vet because it is a little too far but it is a wonderful place.

Where did you go in NYC and where are you located?

There is a good one uptown on the west side I will try and find the name out I forgot what it is called.

I still go upstate to the vet but use the emergency clinic on 55th and 9th for an ER visit.

Just remember NYC prices are going to be high it was 150 to walk in the door at the ER place.

Wow. That's crazy! I'm located in Lower Manhattan. Can you help me get more information on Rockland Spay & Neuter Clinic & Animal Hospital?

I think my friend's sister took her dog there too for shots. She said they're very affordable, but once, they took Momo, her dog, for updates on shots and Momo was allergic to it and started loosing her hair.

I don't know. But can you please get me more information ? :)

Thanks guys!

I dunno if this is cheap to your or not but my dog goes to Heart of Chelsea. The staff are really friendly and nice and the consultation fee is $85.
