Well, it's official. My grandparents are keeping Dixie at their house!!!!!! They love her. Dixie is getting along with the other dogs in the house now. She's not so possessive. She's still a little jealous, but she's not snapping at the other dogs now. She plays with the cats all the time. My grandma took a picture of Dixie and my grandpa in their chair the other day, and she is going to mail it to me. I am so happy. Now, I know that I can see Dixie whenever I want. They told me that Dixie is spoiled rotten!!!! I knew they would do that. I am just so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My grandma also said that the other day Dixie came up to her in the front yard and she had a baby kitten in her mouth. My grandma took the kitten from her and said "Now Dixie, where did you find that?" Then, she said Dixie walked over to a flower bed and just stood there until my granny walked over there. She said she couldn't believe it, but there was a litter of kittens in there!!!!! No one had even known they were there. No one knows where they came from. So, if it wasn't for Dixie finding them and letting my grandma know, there is no telling what would have happened to those babies.

I know this is major relief for you...and i am so happy that everything has worked out so well. i haven't read the Little Prince for a long time and am looking around for another copy..in it the little fox tells the prince that ..not an exact qoute...you tamed me there for you are responsible for me for i can never be what i once was....when we become a part of an animal's life we do take on the responsiblity and for some of us that feeling goes down deep..when we have to change their lives we feel like we are letting them down and go thru all the guilt that goes with it. I had great empathy for you when Dixie had to leave...but now all has turned out just great..and it sounds like Dixie's new owners are happy with her too..i bet the cat is! so now your heart is free to celebrate her new direction. That is how i feel about Shaffer now. I saw his nose go right under mom's arm this morning and he gave her one of his hugs..and i saw her hug him back. made me feel good all over :)

I get to see Dixie in a couple of weeks. We'll be going home for Mothers' Day and my moms birthday. (My parents live next door to my grandparents). I can't wait to see her.
