FFFFFF I'm in NH :/ Would there be any way a transport to NH could be arranged? We also have a cat and are preparing to have a kid within the next year. I'd absolutely be willing to work with him, but he'd have to be good with cats and kids.

I am in the Lakes Region, NH Buddy!

I'm sure Chaz could help figure out transport! I'm not sure how much time I'm going to have to help drive with school starting, but I'd be willing to do a hefty leg if need be.

I can't see him having a problem with kids. He likes to jump, but that is a training problem. He's very sweet and doesn't mind handling at all and he doesn't seem to be grabby or possessive of his toys or food. He may have a bit of a prey drive with cats (just guessing due to his breed mixture), but I can't see it being anything that can't be worked on. We have every kind of cat personality type and size here, so I can test him in about every situation with a cat he'll ever run in to. LOL

I'm going to have limited internet access, but I do get it on my phone so I'll try to update this thread over the weekend. I'm going to contact a coworker of mine today so she can let me know what is going on with him.

That is a WEIRD looking dog, and I love/want him! Wish I could help with transport.

He's very unique looking. I love his ears :)

I wish I could help with transport but I'm all the way down here in Fl. I hope he finds a lovely home, or his doggy parents come back for him! Glad he is with you guys though, and not the pound.

I want him too, lol! Too bad I really can't right now. :(

I think he is just stunning! How could anyone abandon this guy!?

Haven't heard any updates on him from the weekend. I'm working Tuesday PM and I'll see what is going on then. :)

Update: Still haven't heard from his owner. He has until the 1st of September (the date we last heard from his owner of when she'd be back for him) and then we are going to go from there. I did let the staff know that I have someone potentially interested in him if it comes to that. And since the owner was making noises about wanting to find him a home when she dropped him off, even if she does come back for him he may still need a place to go.

I forgot my camera last shift, but I'll try to get a better feel for him and some better pictures if people are interested.

I'm still interested and still keep talking about him to my husband. I just don't want to get to serious and then have his owner come back and claim him. But yes, definitely keep me updated!

Will do! Will know something concrete by next Thursday, I imagine. All I can say is that the more I interact with him the more I like him. He's just such a great boy. Very happy, sweet, eager to please, attentive, watchful, and playful.

And there is yet another dog I know of that needs a home...a coworker's Staffordshire Terrier. She's a bit of a handful, but I think she'd shine in an experienced home (which my coworker most certainly is not...). I'll be making a post about that tomorrow.*sigh*

Gosh he is unique, the blue eyes with the brindle is pretty striking! We recently acquired a westie pup who was dropped of at the vets and never picked up.

Update: He wasn't picked up yesterday and we haven't been able to get in touch with his owner at all. Next step are the certified letters (to be sent out in the next week) and then if we still haven't received any contact he will be surrendered to the clinic. So, it is looking very, very likely that he will need a home. If whomever is interested wants to start making tentative arrangements for him, that would probably be a good idea so when he is "offically" abandoned we can get him moved asap.

And just a bit more information on him - he does appear to be crate trained. We're booked up over the holiday weekend and since he isn't a paying client he was bumped out of his suite and put into a grooming crate until we have a run open up again. He barked when he first went in, but he's been just chilling out all day.
He's very bright and picks up on things really quick, and is really intune with whoever is handling him.
He is aggressive with other aggressive dogs. He is fine with friendly dogs/dogs that ignore him, but if he gets lunged at he'll lunge right back. He hasn't been fond at all of other intact males we have had come through the clinic, but I haven't seen him have a problem with neutered male/female dogs unless they are trying to eat him through the fencing. Even then, he just barks/lunges and isn't out for blood. But I would say he isn't going to be dog park quality.
