I guess I just need to get this off my chest. We have Ramone, a Chihuahua who was abandoned outside the Petco where Roxy works. She brought him home so he wouldn't have to sit in a tiny cage in their grooming department while they tried to figure out what do do with him.
We've fostered before, our last project was a Keeshond we named "Sage." That one showed up in our driveway.
Roxy bonded with Ramone and expressed a desire to keep him. I consented to this, but made it clear that with three dogs of our own, it wouldn't be feesable to continue fostering. Our property is very large, but our house is very small and we need to maintain a healthy enviornment for everybody.
So it was settled, we would keep the little fella. Well, in the past week there have been 6, no that's not a typo, I really mean 6 animals abandoned at her store and it's pulled really hard at her heart strings. She now wants to continue fostering so we can help other needy creatures along their way. This means giving up Ramone to make room for the next foster. He will continue to stay with us until our local Chihuahua rescue can find him his perfect forever home. Roxy's having h hard time. She loves the little guy so much, but it's in her heart to continue being a foster mom. I hate to see her like this and wish there was something I could do. If I could wave a magic wand and double the size of our house. If I could win the lottery and buy us a ranch somewhere.... *sigh*
Just needed to vent...
