Went to Riley's first agility class of the new session and... well... let's just say he was less than stellar. A little disappointing since he'd looked like he was 'getting it' in the last class, and he was carrying that same attitude on the few obstacles I have at home.

But, it was the first hot, humid day we've had (he stood in his water bowl at one point), with a new class of different dogs, and scheduled later in the evening than his other classes have been, so I think that contributed to some of his lack of focus on the obstacles. A lot of the other dogs had similar focus problems, so it wasn't just us. I think he'll get better as he gets used to the change in his routine.

On the plus side, Riley did the teeter at full height for the first time and blasted through the 12 weave poles, doing one tempi lead changes. He got a round of applause for that. :) I was so proud of my little stripey boy!

Anyway, just wanted to share... :)

Aww, it sounds like he is coming along great! Hot, humid days are tough on all of us; I know my dog runs very differently depending on the weather.
