4 Chinese Cresteds in our shelter

A few days ago, someone dropped off 4 hairless Chinese Cresteds at the Orange County Animal Shelter.

You rarely even see these dogs around here... so it's strange to see 4 in the county shelter.

Oh my gosh she looks pg too. poooooooor baby. I hope they are adopted soon.
Looks like she has one application. THat's good. SHe looks cold and unhappy.

Is it just me, or does she look pregnant? Poor thing!

Could be just a bad picture and she's overweight, but it's such a weird weight distribution.

Poor babies. I really hope that they all will get adopted or at least pulled. None of them had applications on them when I posted this, so that's a good sign the first dog has one now.

That's one of the worst abuse cases I've seen. Ugh

Very odd that there are 4 all at once............wonder if they were yanked from some hoarder or surrendered for some sad reason?

It is good to see an app on the first one, She's definitely VERY pregnant!

How sad. A local breeder shut down recently and our rescue got flooded with cresteds. Puppies, adults, everything.

that first female is 100% without a doubt pregnant!
hopefully she gets placed with a home prepped and ready for nekkid pups (crestie pups are trouble lol)

there all quite nice looking dogs, but im thinking a byb who got in a ltitle over their heads, mabe too expensive, lost their home, something...

One of the ladies from crestie rescue posted on the crestie board, and there is a foster home lined up for any of these 4 cresties who aren't adopted by forever families.

There is a shelter in Jacksonville that got 7 in, that doesn't have people lined up yet as far as I've heard.

If a train is set up, I'd be happy to foster.

I have to reply about this. Orange County Animal Services would not accept an app on a pregnant dog. She would never go home with someone if she were pregnant, unless it was one of their registered fosters. So, if she were pregnant, she would not be up for adoption, however, they would still post her pic in case she were a lost dog (which obviously is not, as they got 4 on the same day).

Hopefully they will all be adopted... I hate to think of them in those cold kennels right now, especially since we are having quite the cold spell (at least overnights) right now.

belive me, that little crestie girl in the first link is either pregnant, or has something seriously wrong!

not even multiple past breedings would leave her abdomen looking like that.
perhaps theyve taken an aplication pending vet check, or an aplication for after she delivers, or mabe a foster family wholl be taking her in has decided after she dleivers they want to adopt her...

who knows...

i do know however, thats NOT a normal healthy crestie belly and my money would be on pregnancy.
