    Heartworms?

It actually does cause/spread resistance. Look at it this way, the slow-kill method kills the babies but not the adults, right? The adults can live for several years inside a dog before they die. So let's say the adults have 100 babies and the preventative kills all except 2 that happen to be...

    Heartworms?

I recently went to a conference about this topic. I live in the Mississippi River Valley and heartworm resistance is very real here. Here's an article about it: http://veterinarynews.dvm360.com/dvm/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=818797 This one is a little easier to read...

    Heartworms?

Is there a reason you're doing the slow-kill method instead of treatment? The heartworm treatment sucks because you have to keep them confined for 3 months, but it's much more ideal than the slow-kill method. Heartworms are actually becoming resistant to ivermectin because of this method. If you...

    Seresto collars

I have the Seresto collar for my Border Collie and I love it. I've never used flea/tick preventatives in the past, but ticks have been awful this year. Haven't seen a single one on him since I put it on. It is waterproof and I never take it off.

Hello everyone! I just picked up my 8 week old BC puppy on Thursday. He has been terrific so far, very sweet and mellow. We've already taught him sit, down, and come using clicker training. Took to raw feeding like a champ and has only had a few accidents. The only problem is he still...

    Border Collie Breeders

I've heard a lot about Fieldstone Border Collies. Do they have a website? I couldn't find any contact information. If anyone has any information on them, I'd appreciate it! :)

    Border Collie Breeders

Thanks everyone for reading! Lizmo, I found these breeders mostly through the ABCA and AKA referral list and google searches. I would definitely prefer a working BC breeder, but I'm having trouble finding many nearby. I plan to go to an upcoming sheep trial hosted by the Mid-south Stock...

    Border Collie Breeders

Hello everyone! I'm new to forum, but have been lurking for quite a bit. Here is some background on me: I am a 20 year old college student studying veterinary medicine at the University of Mississippi. I am originally from Memphis, TN. I have worked at a pet supply store for the past...
