Showing dogs- How did you decide

If you just want to get your feet wet in showing - you'll have an easier time of it, and be able to get a better quality dog if you ask for a male. Breeders are more likely to give up a quality male than a quality female - especially to a newbie. Some breeders will require you to co-own a dog...

    Diarrhea after raw bone...?

I've had this problem with some of my dogs and raw bones. They may not be able to handle the bacteria count. Dogs are inidividuals just like people what some people and dogs can tolerate, others cannot. Two of my dogs do really well on raw but the other two get sick on it.

    Deliberate Dog, help!

The last behavior you are describing is a doggie "game" - many dogs play "keep away." They will take the owners possesion (or another dog's) and bait the human (or dog) into chaising them to get the object. By making a fuss, you actually encourage this behavior. My suggestion is to turn your...

    Breeding/Showing Question

You need to check that the bands aren't too tight. You can gently pull down on each "pony tail" to see that no hairs are snagging.

    Breeding/Showing Question

You should definetly do away with a harness and you should avoid putting any dog clothes on her - especially any with velcro closures. Yes, she should be in oil - I pmed you about that. Also never pull a band out - you should always cut them out. I would recommend a combination of ultra...

    Breeding/Showing Question

Looks OK - but the coat does not look like it in oil. You need to condition this coat in order for it to grow. Also, what kind of bands are you using here? Also, band the face furnishings.

    Breeding/Showing Question

Dixie - you need to learn how to stack your Yorkie. In order to asssess your dog, we need to see her moving in a straight line - "down and back" and properly stacked. I can't really tell anything from these photos. I'd also recommend standing her on concrete rather than uneven ground or grass...
