Christmas gifts you're getting for others...

Doggie coat for friend #1 Down vest for friend #2 Something yet to be determined for DH. I usually do "experience" gifts, but with the baby it's so hard :\ And that's it! I told family that I didn't want to do gifts this year. Our gift to my side is that we spend $900 on plane tickets to...

Chaz Moms and Moms-to-Be Chat (everyone welcome)

No Christmas gifts here. He will be under a year and oblivious at Christmas, and grandparents will surely go overboard so we are putting the money we would have spent into the college fund. In a few years it will be a different story, I'm sure.

Favorite brand & type of ice cream

Yesssssss peppermint ice cream. The only reason I'm okay with the pumpkin flavored stuff ending after Halloween is because the peppermint ice cream transitions in. The rest of the year, I like mint n chip or moose tracks.

Yes. Home in a good school district Salaries high enough that we could save for college Stable jobs At least 5 really awesome vacations $10k in the "emergency" fund And I am so glad we did. Things are 100x more challenging with the baby. There is no extra money, no time/energy for...

    Getting in heel position?

Can she do a line up? If she's facing you, lure her backwards past your leg and flip her around so she's facing the same direction you are?

I can't afford a babysitter! The high school kids charge $15/hour! That makes our $30 dinner cost $60, and that ain't in the budget very often. And yeah, bedtime makes me nervous. It's a struggle for me to get him down, so I'm not sure I'd feel right making a stranger deal with the bedtime...

    Agility training

Lucy is pretty motion reactive, especially on leash. At the beginning, we'd hang out outside the building (or far away from the ring) and my friend would come and grab me when there was only 1 dog before us. Even in the 1 minute until we went in the ring, sometimes I'd go through a whole...

Chaz Moms and Moms-to-Be Chat (everyone welcome)

Everyone kept saying, "You'll miss him too much, you'll be going crazy by the end of the weekend!" Uh, no. 2 days is perfect. My house is clean, dinners for the week are made, errands are run, and I got a full night's sleep! I wish we had family near by (my parents are in California, his...

My Logan is 8 months now, and there is FINALLY a light at the end of the tunnel. OMG the first 6 months sucked royally. It is so much better now that he can stay sitting up. I cannot wait until he can sit up on his own so if he topples over he isn't stuck. He can almost crawl, so baby...

Oh my gosh, puppydog, that's so scary. Do you have help caring for her at home? (Are you staying home with her?) What is involved with it all?

    Then and Now

<3 What a sweet story with such a happy ending :) Lucy was adopted when she was 3ish. We were at least her 3rd home in 3 years (she'd been in the shelter twice). She was a hyperactive loon who had no brain on her when she saw a squirrel or another dog or a car or a bike or or or... She...

What does you dog get mistaken for?

Lucy gets schipperke fairly often, which is such an uncommon breed that I'm honestly surprised so many people know the name! She is small and black and fluffy, but she's not a schip! I get border collie a lot too. There may very well be some border in her, but I'm surprised how many people...

Chaz Moms and Moms-to-Be Chat (everyone welcome)

Yes yes yes this!!! I was MISERABLE with people in my house. MIL wanted to "teach" me how to do baby things, grandmother wanted to hold the baby...and it was frustrating and stressful and I was embarrassed to try to (unsuccessfully) nurse and pump with other people in the house. If I could do...

Chaz Moms and Moms-to-Be Chat (everyone welcome)

I was itching to go back to work after my 6 week leave. I was so bored! To be honest, I'm kind of dreading this summer at home. I think (hope?) it will be better as he grows up, but I am so not a baby person. You have to know yourself. There was definitely disappoinent from my in laws that I...

    More shedding than usual?

Not balding. She eats a salmon food (TOTW), so i've never added extra. I could though. I guess it's time to call the vet!

    More shedding than usual?

Lucy's always had the most amazing coat. She'd shed dust bunny clumps in the corners, and i could brush out excess fluff, but it never came off in your hand when you pet her or on you clothes when she sat in your lap. The past couple months though, her coat has changed. She is shedding like...
