I prefer long hair over short. Long hair is softer and I find dogs with long hair stunning when they are well groomed.

Not many vets know about breed identification, unless they very closely study each breed. Lab is a very good possiblity. Not all lab mixes look just like them, but many of the larger mixes do have lab in them. Even if it is only 1/4 or 1/8. A lot of figuring out what a mix is comes down...
