    Please help me on this

oh wow. I had no intention of talking down by any means. I was actually complimenting the folks posting. I was agreeing with advice being given and I am only here to help people who might have questions. I apologise if my intentions were interpreted wrong. And as for my website it's actually...

I have been wanting to get a dane so badly!! Your pup is absolutely gorgeous!! :)

    Off leash walking...

I usually don't suggest off leashing in my classes unless you know your dog is 100% reliable on commands off leash. And it sounds like your pup wouldnt be the problem. I would worry about someone else's dog not being so receptive to the greeting. IMO I dont think its bad trail etiquette. But...

    Please help me on this

I would have to agree with every bit of advice on this thread. There are rare occassions where a thread is actually informative. :)

    Barking in Crate... Again

Do you put chew toys or something to keep her entertained? I agree with putting the pup in an area where you can still come downstairs but not reward the pup with the sight of you. Also when your pup is barking and your downstairs do you talk or try to verbally correct the action? Only reason I...

Why won't my dog play with me??????

Play time is a must when you own a dog. Contact with people and other dogs daily doesnt promise a perfect pooch but it sure goes a long way. And I agree with some posts on playing preference. My Shiba will play fetch for about 3 rounds of throwing and running. Then she will just look at me like...

Not wanting to play with other dogs?

It doesnt sound like your pup is having socializing problems. Sounds more like he just loves his mama. :) Just having the option to run and play with other dogs is good. If he chooses to stay at your side Id say you have a good pup on your hands. :)

What do you think he is?

I can see a lil bit of the tibby. But they usually have a shorter snout than her pup does. But it could definately be a tibby mix :)

    ok.... am I overreacting?

Id have to agree with Saje. Though I completely understand how frustrating it is. I now have a 3 month old and my hubby tends to try and smooth things over with the "I'll wake up early to help" bit. After a while when he didnt help out I stopped cleaning his things piling it into a designated...

    I'm so worried...

:( poor pup. I know your pain. It breaks my heart everytime my dog yelps. But then again I have a shiba inu and she is sensitive beyond words. :) I hope your pup gets better soon let us all know how the vet visit goes.

Dog kills kid - Animal Control is Blamed?

You took the words right out of my mouth. I think its ridiculous that they would blame AC. Like they are really suppose to go around to everyones house telling them what their breeds are capable of. It all comes down to respecting dogs for what they are. Dogs. All animals are capable of biting...

    Dog Phobias

Can't say that I am afraid of dogs really. I have had a black and tan coonhound attempt to bite my face off in one of my classes. (very dominant agressive dog) The owner loosened up the leader after I did my begining of class check. So I do now tend to be more cautious but never afraid.

What do you think he is?

I was flipping back and forth from the AKC website. And the only thing I can see thats prominent would be some Sussex Spaniel from the sporting group. I cant quite pin point you pups face tho. Very cute pup either way :)

Is this a good way to train my 3month puppie to not run off while off leash?

I agree with alot of what the people post on here. At 3 months old any dog breed cant be trusted off a leash. Puppies have a very limited attention span and will find something of more interest than their owner quite frequently. And again I agree with a beagel and their inherent ability for...

    Help with dog (Buster) barking!

Barking is a natural reaction for dogs in most situations. It sounds to me like your dog just wants to be a part of all the action and the only way for him to channel it is to bark at every opportunity. Moving the couch is a good idea if thats what seems to trigger it. Whatever you do dont...

    How to gain focus?

Depending on the dog it does take some of the more sensitive personalities more time to adjust to a change in their environment. I currently have a Shiba Inu and it took her well over 2 weeks to feel comfortable enough in the begining. So every dog is different. Alot of dog in my classes have a...

    Treat training?

Treat training is a great way to positively reinforce your dog. But your right it is a bit silly to have to be scrambling around for treats and putting your dog in a sit position while the other dogs are walking on by. For dogs that are excitable during their walks redirecting their excitement...
