    Is Apollo overweight?

Daphne's a little on the thin side, but my vet said she's okay for now. He gave me this SUPER HELPFUL chart that's especially for labs! Hope this helps!

    Kibble or Soft Food

So, I just got my first dog 3 weeks ago. She's a service dog. I'm disabled and needed a little extra help. So far, she's been perfect. She has eaten TOTW all her life so I'm keeping her on a grain-free diet for sure. I may go to home-cooked food sometime in the future, but I have to do more...

    Preparation

There are exactly 49 days left until team training! I'm soooo excited! Team training is going to be 10 days long and I'll be the only student on campus. Daphne is going to be my Service Dog and also my first dog EVER, so I'm kind of clueless as to what I need to have ready for her. She's a 21...

I need help for Service Dog!

I am getting an extensive note from my trainer about the particular dog and how she was trained. I'm also getting a note from my doctor and therapists. The school just told me that the more information I had, the better. If anyone writes this note for me, they do not have to speak for my dog...

I need help for Service Dog!

I need someone who has some sort of official dog training certificate or significant training experience to write my school a letter about how mobility dogs are trained. They won't let me have the dog at school if they think that just slapping a harness on a dog is what a mobility dog is. I need...

My first and only picture of my future service dog

Thanks again everyone. I honestly think she looks like she could be in an oil painting with a hunting scene in some museum. For some reason, this program produces dogs that are so beautiful they look like paintings in their pictures. I guess they just have a really good breeding stock.

    Fran's service dog journey

Hey Fran, I'm new to the forum so I haven't been following your story the whole time. However, I'm currently in law school and I'm getting my service dog from a program in August. We have a lot in common! If you want to chat one-on-one, PM me. Laura

    Preparing for the pup

Now that I know for sure that Daphne is coming home in 4 months, I'm wondering what stuff I have to buy. Daphne is already coming with a harness she's comfortable with that has a rigid handle so I don't have to worry about that. But, what are your favorite leashes, mats, portable dog watering...

    Hiya!

Hi everyone! My name is Laura and I currently live in Manhattan. I found out today that in 4 months (August) I'm going to be attending team training in New Mexico and leaving with a fully trained service dog. The dog will be trained to help me walk (she will wear a mobility harness) and to...
