Frontline How does a product like frontline work? You put a few drops on the dogs shoulder blades and it works how? It spread through the skin? does it permeate the skin thru-out the dog? I'm still confused!

OK so now I as confused as I was before. Are these flea products harmful to dogs? If I use frontline on my dog will I be putting him in a health risk situation?
