    Travelling with Pup

Depending on how much your dog weighs, you may want to consider a dog car seat. I got ours from Outward Bound....and Tugger LOVES it. It boosts him up--he's fastened in with his harness to the seat....and he can see everything or lie down if he wants. We got a MEDIUM size for Tugger (a...

    Heartworm Meds

We've been using inceptor since Tugger was born.

    Which is the best?

Tugger likes the Natural Balance dog treats. He wouldn't eat the dog food dry....had to mix the canned in.

    Good things to chew on?

Tugger started out on cow hoofs.....but he got aggressive when we took it away...so we decided not to give those to him anymore. And he also got very sick on rawhide....so those were taken away months ago. Then we tried him on the edible nylabones.....but he ate them too quickly--throws them...

    Sexually frustrated already??

We got our dog fixed when he was 5 months old....he still humps.

Getting your puppy to poop on command?

By 8 months, Tugger has been completely trained. We did the crate training thing and it works! (And although my husband objected at first-he'll now agree it was the easiest thing we ever did!) Also learned that you take them out in hours by their age...so at one month, it was every hour, 2...

Getting your puppy to poop on command?

I wouldn't call it on command, however Tugger for the most part goes "poop" 3 times a day....in the AM when we first take him out....at 5:30PM and again around 9:30PM. Like your pup, he doesn't poop 20 minutes after eating....it could either be hours--or just before he eats (which is typically...

    Dog never eats

How long do you all leave the food down for the dog? I put out dry kibble in the AM...hoping and praying he eats something. By 5pm, if he hasn't eaten-we add water or some portion of canned/wet food. How long can the food actually stay down on the floor before it gets contaminated?

    Frosty Paws

Tugger loves them...but we don't give him the entire cup. We cut it in quarters and ration his portions. We thought they'd be a nice change from ice cubes. And he loves them.

    Pimples?

Funny you should say that. Tugger has his own water dish....and I clean it out about 4 times a day--and recently, it's been slimy on the bottom. I'll try changing it more often. Thanks!!

    Dog never eats

We have the same issues with Tugger (who is a beagle and they are known to eat anything/everything!). We now have 4 bags of dog food in our home--and not one that he "likes". He's one picky boy. Yesterday, it was suggested that we take the kibble and add some peanut oil or safflower oil to...

    Pimples?

Thanks! We'll hold off a couple of days....it's not getting any bigger--it's just new and different. We'll keep an eye on it.

    Jelly Poo?!

Yeah....get the dog to the vet ASAP. For us, that jelly poop was the first sign we had to Tugger's giardia. (Was it formed poop with a coating of slimmy slick mucus around it?) Of course, at the time, I had no idea end eventually--the jelly poop went to "Dairy Queen" poop. I wish we had known...

    Pimples?

I just noticed a spot on Tugger's nuzzle area....where his whiskers are to the left of his nose. It appears like a pimple....and it's hard. Do dogs get pimples? If so--is there something I can put on it to clear it up or will it go away on its own? Thanks!
