Must love whiskers! Really, other than show dogs that get them trimmed, most pets I know have crazy whiskers. My boy has the same distribution of black and white hairs! I find it adorable. Don't have a good picture of it though.

This is your first dog, really, isn't it? I can't imagine why they'd urge a "newbie" to work with a choke collar. They're a useful tool but NEED to be used correctly to have any affect and not injure the dog. Plus there's plenty of ways to train without one.

Ohh, wish I was here to see this thread earlier. I lived in the NYC suburbs for 15 years - I still find new things each time I go back to the city. One day wouldn't even scratch the surface! Hope you had fun though.

I was quite confused reading your post. Then I noticed where you live! Hee... I can't wrap my brain around it NOT being rainy and cold in December! We just need to duck down a few more degrees and convert that into some snow. Then it's all good.
