    Pigment Loss

You can't see in the picture but his actual nose is fine. No pigment loss there or on the top, just on the sides and under his nose and his lips (if they are lips) and inside his mouth (not sure if the inside of his mouth was always colored like that though as it is more pink than white like the...

    Pigment Loss

My chocolate lab seems to be losing the pigment around his nose. I took him to the vet when it was localized to one side of his face and she said that there is no redness, crustiness, or inflammation and she said it could possibly be an allergic reaction to something. She also said it isn't...

3 Year Old Lab - Chewing

I take him out back and he will bring the ball back about 3-4 times before he gets bored and then he starts roaming around the backyard eating plants (which is why he isn't allowed out there alone.) I used to run with him, about 2 or so miles, and that seemed to help tire him out. I haven't been...

3 Year Old Lab - Chewing

I did this when he was a puppy. At that point in time destruction happened the instant I was out of sight. I also figured out why there were little brown marks on the kitchen floor. Turns out someone was crapping in the house and eating it. I was planning on setting it back up to view him now...

3 Year Old Lab - Chewing

Are you talking about REAL animal bones or something else? I thought giving dogs real bones were dangerous as they could splinter?

3 Year Old Lab - Chewing

He goes through the hardest level of nylabone like crazy. He has about 7 or so in his toy box right now. It didn't take him long to figure out how to destroy a red OR black kong for that matter either. I used to give it to him when he was a pup until he figure out how to eat it and he was...

3 Year Old Lab - Chewing

Well I would rather just leave the chairs up over crating him. If the chairs are up there is no way he can cause problems (and he doesn't.) I don't think it would be good mentally or physically for a 3 year old lab to be stuck in the crate a good part of the day. As for how I react when he...

3 Year Old Lab - Chewing

I have a lab who is turning 3 at the end of this month. He STILL doesn't know (or doesn't care) what is his and what is not. I assume part of it is because he doesn't get enough exercise but changing that is just not an option right now. Whenever we leave the house we leave him gated in a...

Does anyone do their own vaccinations??

I would still take him in for an annual but it is just the extra cost of the vaccines that isn't needed.

Does anyone do their own vaccinations??

I just sucked it up this year and had the vet do it. They also said they HAD to do an examination before they would administer the vaccine just to make sure he is "healthy enough" for it. By next year I will certainly look into doing it myself.

Does anyone do their own vaccinations??

Yes He has just been in for a checkup about 2 months ago so I don't need that and it wasn't factored into the price. As for the lepto it has been prevalent in my area the past few years (Long Island) and since this dog sticks his face in everything and goes to the park weekly I think it is a...

Does anyone do their own vaccinations??

Yeah I guess I didn't think of it that way. However $60 markup to administer the vaccine is a bit excessive. It doesn't make sense that this one vaccine is so much more expensive than the others which they only charge 22 for. Maybe because it is a combo they are saying 22 * 3 or some crap. I...

Does anyone do their own vaccinations??

My vet charges $65 for DA2PCPV. Do you think they would be insulted if I asked if I could purchase my own shot for $5 and have them administer it? The other shots are the usual rate of $22 which seems like everyone else is saying is normal. I don't want to administer the shot myself but I don't...

11 month old lab - Morning barking

There is NO WAY this guy can be trusted around things in range yet (socks, shoes, remotes, etc...) The limit to his behavior is when there is nothing in his reach. :lol-sign:

11 month old lab - Morning barking

Unfortunately this week he has suffered some setbacks. The past two days he decided he would snack on some molding and this morning he decided he would help himself to a cantaloupe. He ate half the cantaloupe rind and all and cleaned out all the seeds in the middle. He ws fine until about 30...
