I was searching the forums for this kind of info and wondering if anyone had any other ideas? My dog tore his ACL and is on 2 weeks of strict rest. He loves the "hide the toys" games and chewie things but I am not sure this will be enough to fend off the crazies.

I know some dogs do that when they need their anal glands released. I have only seen my dog do it when he is sick and has tummy trouble. Maybe try a visit to the groomer to see if you can have the glands checked?
