So, what does everyone think about the comments made by an MSNBC news anchor that the Clintons had "pimped out" Chelsea?

I think Hil is making way to big a deal out of it... Heck a lot was said about the Bush Twins, its life in the spotlight... you gotta move on.

It was most certainly a poor choice of words and to ask for an apology is fine but she is now threatening not to take part in any more debates which is only going to hurt her (theoretically, although this family seems to have the ability for negatives to slide right off of them).

So anyway, your opinions?

I would be mad if I was her too. My family are all voting for her. To me as long as a Democrat wins im happy. I would rather her than Obama he just not for me.

The fact that Obama supports partial birth abortion did it for me. Hillary all the way.
Ummm.....so does Hillary. In fact, her husband is the one who brought it back to being a popular thing to do. What disgusts me is that I could've very well just aborted my son.........and the same time he was born very much healthy and alive.

As for the comment, I thought it was hysterical. First of all, people have the right to say what they want to without being censored by presidential candidiates. The fact that this news anchor has been placed on leave disgusts me. Much worse has been said about Bush's entire family the past 8 years and the Clinton's just reveled in it. Secondly, the truth hurts. I have no doubt in my mind that they are using Chelsea to "appeal" to the younger voters, to celebrities, and whatnot. It's obvious in the places she's been speaking and who she's been photographed with as of late. If you can't handle the truth, which we all know the Clintons cannot even spell the word, then back down and let the real men/women do the job.

yes... since the whole Imus scandal it seems like too many reporters are put on leave the second they say something that is really really nice... journalism and reporting cant work that way... we do not need a bunch of people on TV telling us what we want to hear... we need them telling us the TRUTH... and yes the Clinton's do have a bit of problem spelling the word but in all honesty most politicians do... you really have to wade through a bunch of garbage to get to the few honest politicians out there.

So if it is bad that Imus was suspended, and this keeps journalists from telling the truth, are you claiming that Imus was telling the truth?

Sorry, I can live the rest of my life very nicely without having journalists inform me that a division I women's basketball team consists of "nappy-headed hos", and I would hardly call that either journalism, or the truth.

I think she should grow up, suck it up, and move on.

If she gets the presidency (GOD frobid) is she going to throw a tantrum whenever someone says something about her or her family? Is she going to refuse to do her job because "people are mean" BOO HOO.

Take a tissue and go cry some place else.

Sorry,Sparks, I don't think there is any hope of God intervening in this one. It's just up to us mortals. All we can do is vote and hope for the best.

Hillary Clinton is, first and foremost, a mother. And she has struggled to keep Chelsea out of the spotlight when her husband was in office. I can't imagine what delusional person would attack her for "pimping" her daughter...there are a lot of things Hillary could be attacked for but "pimping" her daughter isn't one of them. I'd be pissed too.

I would be upset as well if someone made such a derogatory statement about my child. But when you venture into politics... you or your family and friends are subject to the slander, insults, lies, and probing that goes along with politics. I think anyone knows that politicians get their closets cleaned out for any skeletons. It's a shame chelsea has to be the one targeted with such ridiculous accusations.. but she's in a family of politicians, it was bound to happen.

And I think her refusing to debate or whatever it was she was refusing to do only makes her look bad. It is sending the message that if she doesn't get her way or if someone offends her that she will stomp her feet and refuse to go along. It could wind up biting her in the butt in the long run.

I agree with Nancy completely. Yes, Chelsea is going to be targeted, as are all other politicians' families, but it's really quite sad that that's what 'has to be done'. If I were a mother, I'd be upset that someone said something like that about my child and I'd sure as hell want to try to defend her and my parenting.

That said, I think refusing interviews is a bad idea.

Side note since we're talking about Chelsea Clinton- Back when Bill was in office, she was dating one of my teacher's sons. They both went to Stanford together. The press around was a madhouse, lol. I think he brough her home once and they were camped out in front of the school and in front of my teacher's house. Sheesh....

RIght :)

I don't think any parent wouldn't get upset about it. I don't think that is the issue at all. SURE I would be mad if someone said bad things about Hannah.... but I certainly wouldn't throw a tantrum and refuse to do things just to get my own way.

If she ever takes office is she gonna threaten to hold her breath until people do what she wants? lol lay on the floor kicking and screaming and pounding her fists? lol

AND... just to be clear... I don't think the accusation was that they were "pimping her out" in the sexual sense... like a hooker. But more that they are using her to further their campaign. And if that is true... then she definitely isn't try too hard to keep her out of the spotlight.

I dont think she will be giving billy high fives... unless thats the slang you use for something else.

And yes, it was not meant in a sexual way... it was just the term used for them sending her out to garner the younger vote that Obama is typically getting.
