My mother is wonderful, if perhaps not a spectacular dog trainer. But the best dog grandmother around.

And to be fair, my father does eat the bologna sometimes. But he's kind of got the eating habits of a 5 year old. He certainly doesn't eat as much as the dogs do, though.

I think Brisbane may be losing a little bit of his sight. He used to be really spectacular at catching food, and now misses a lot in low light. His eyes are just a tiny bit cloudy, but I think it's just 'old dog' cloudy and not 'impending blindness' cloudy. I hope.

My boyfriend, who is usually pretty lukewarm on dogs, is always bringing up Crossbone and Pox from the Chaz meeting in May. I think he is sold on little terrier dogs, haha.

Poor Cajun is starting to get a little extra padding now that I don't live with her. My mom takes her to the park and throws the frisbee but it's just nowhere near the exercise she used to get. Thankfully my mom understands this and when I mentioned it last night she said she'd cut back her food. It doesn't help that I had her on a performance food and we haven't switched her off that, obviously she's not needing that fat and calories anymore. Makes me sad though! Hopefully she'll get back to where I like her with a change in food.

On that body condition note, I was just noticing that Sawyer is like this lean, muscley little guy... I am used to squishy puppies and he's just solid.

Haha! He said he had a bunch of fun, even though he now thinks dog people are insane.

He seems to be looking forward to the Saint Louis meetup, so I think I have him sold ;)
We are a special breed :D

I am glad he had a good time. Crossbone and Pox are a pretty memorable pair <3

We may have introduced the head chopping too soon.
I assured him that everyone there really does love dogs.

I also assured him that I don't post that much, so hopefully no one on here hates me enough to find out where I live and where I work so they can stalk and harass me.

He felt better after I told him that most of this drama happened a long time ago, and Chaz is pretty tame nowadays.

I just had a small scare that was thankfully nothing.

I threw Leo out in the backyard to go potty, but was in the middle of something, so closed the door after him. Ten minutes later, I come back to the screen door to let him back in, and he is not waiting at the door like he usually does.

Weird.
I step out into the backyard, and the front gate is wide open, dog not in yard.

I let out a scared "Leo?" from where I was standing, and Leo comes BOLTING through the front gate and straight to me. I think he might have been waiting for me at the front door.

Whew. That could have gone a whole lot worse.

Gosh I missed Fable. I just got home last night after 15 days out of town, and it was awful having to wait until today to pick her up from the sitter's.

But she did awesome while I was away, and after a visit to the park this afternoon, she's happily snoozing on her armchair. So glad to be back.
