Other then similar racist names (and I worked at a shelter in a small rural southern town. I actually had to look some of them up because I had never heard them before :yikes:), my personal favorite was S80. Yes, you pronounce that Sadie. I just pray that person doesn't ever have kids.

I also had a black lab mix with an masculine Asian name. It was a tall lanky dog with a blue collar. It was also a girl, and the owner would get super offended if someone mixed up her dogs gender. Either give some kind of clue or quit getting upset about it.

I worked in boarding kennels so..
"FoSho" and "daCuteness" owned by the same person.

Umm.. Sky2. Because their dog that passed away was Sky, so this dog was Sky2.

At the vet I worked for in Texas, they had two cats buried on the property... N***** Baby 1 and 2.

And there was this Boston that used to board at one of the kennels, it's name was Bodywap. Something about anime, I don't know.

Wow, I've never seen anything that bad around here. My personal favorite terrible name was a friend's cousin's golden retriever named Nibbles. It was an adorable name when Nibbles was a tiny fluffy puppy who liked to play tug with Ru. It was less adorable when he was 100 pounds of under exercised and destructive retriever.

"Nibbles at the couch. Again."

An obese Dalmatian named Cakes. Either the dog loved cake, or left big cakes in the backyard. I couldn't decide.

We have a Buddie who is a girl, whose owner gets really crabby if you say "he". Also a Rick...also a girl....whose owners also got crabby if you mixed up gender. One...it's a dog. I could call them a potato and they'd not know the difference. Two...your dog's name is Rick!

This thread terrifies me. I was expecting answers like "Tunahead".

I've actually never heard anything that bad. We had a Bundy at daycare which I thought was odd. And college friends named their dog "Doggest".

We had a dog named Pookie in daycare which everyone thought was the stupidest name. But that clearly doesn't touch anything in this thread.

Woooo, yeah, I haven't met any dogs with racist names, but I probably shouldn't be surprised that it's happened. The weirdest I've met was a beagle mix named Creamer. Apparently his colors looked like coffee creamer.

That being said, I volunteered at a shelter and there were some somewhere bizarre names the employees came up with for stray dogs. Like that time two people argued between naming the dog "Pooh" and "Twinkle" so he ended up "Poowinkle."

I actually haven't ever heard anything offensive or racist, but the number of dogs I meet that are named Bella pisses me off. In general I'm not too fond of human names for dogs, but it really depends on the dog.

One time I jokingly suggested that we name this mini Aussie at the rescue Roger, but I was taken seriously and that's what they named him. And when he got adopted, the owners kept the name.

ETA: And we often get bizarre names from dogs coming from California. One of the most memorable ones was Mr. Buggles.

We've had a few interesting names come through.

Little ****
Te Crot (little **** in french, apparently)
Shoeshine
Curly Rooster
Pancake
Buster T Brown III
Sir Cid Viscious
Fluffy Shadow
My vet has a cat named Kitty Soft Paws.
I new a female Dalmatian named Fred once. But she was SO a Fred, so it never seemed weird to call a girl dog Fred. haha

I swear there have been others, but I'm drawing a blank.

I tech I used to work with had a black cat whose name was Coon. She totally meant it like RAcoon, but of course, that isn't what most people think of. She wanted another cat, so she adopted a white cat and named it Possum. :p

We had a little stray dog with a broken jaw. I named him Phteven, jokingly. His new owners kept him as Stevie :)

"Tyrone Shoelaces" as in "tie ur own shoelaces" for a female black cat. The cats alternate name was "Tyranofelis Domesticus" which is latin for "terrible house cat". Tyrone for short.

OK - Yep, I did that.

Ummm I've never heard anything too off the wall, but I really despise the name Tinkerbell. I have a sort-of family member who named her dog that and I don't know why, I just think it's so dumb. lol
